  3. Personality on the job on Behavioral Interviews for New Hires? · · Score: 1

What does my personality have to do with my ability to perform in a job?

Not a thing; however, it does have something to do with how well you'll fit in the culture there. Whether these tests reveal anything worthwhile is questionable, IMO.

What I find much more offensive are drug screening tests before being hired, because of privacy issues.

if I buy a Seagate, how do I know I'm not really getting a Conner?

If I buy a Buick, how do I know I'm not really getting a Pontiac!

Not long after a merger, two companies really are just one big glob with different names attached to the protuberances thereof, I'm afraid.

Since the US is a Christian nation, having a "Save" button helps keep Jesus constantly on our minds. Now if we could only get the "Delete" button changed to "Damn to the Flames of Hell for All Eternity".

And don't even get me started on the obviously Freudian "Cut" and "Paste".

  16. Viruses are evolving? on New Worm Chats with Users on AIM · · Score: 2, Interesting

    Viruses are evolving

Seriously now, are viruses really evolving or is it just that the techniques used by virus writers are evolving? And my Inner Philosopher wants to know if there's a difference and if this has anything to do with Intelligent Design.

    I better stop now.

Prolly not. I read an interview with Brian Eno many years ago where he said he tried to break his habit of watching so much TV by opening the TV set and unscrewing and disconnecting the power cable and by disconnecting the antenna.

He said he didn't watch any less TV, he just got *really good* at re-wiring the power and antenna cables.
