  1. Re:Lack of vision on Help Shape the Future of Slashdot · · Score: 1

I think Steve is unavailable. Not sure why I think that - just a hunch.

  2. Re:I don't even *OWN* a TV, man on One More Thing For Apple Stores: Food? · · Score: 1

You forgot to include 'mouth breathing'. Fail!

  3. At last! on Pavegen To Tap Pedestrians For Power In the UK · · Score: 1

A positive aspect about obesity! The UK fatties will now be lauded as heroes because their ample proportions will enable them to generate more leckie than the average skinny person.

  4. Re:More children's albums! on Ask They Might Be Giants About Almost 30 Years of Music · · Score: 1

Raffi is so awful. I had to endure that garbage at my ex-wifes insistence.

  5. Re:Classical on Ask They Might Be Giants About Almost 30 Years of Music · · Score: 1

None of them will be 'considered classical' because they are not classical. The word you want to use is 'classic'.

Or fall off the back of a motor cycle. Fall off the back of a motor cyclist more likely.

  7. Re:Not really censored on Libraries Release Most-Censored Books List · · Score: 1

I really like it when my kids ask me 'uncomfortable questions'. It usually means that they are really thinking and hungry for knowledge. If I think it is something they shouldn't know about yet I'll just say, 'when you're older'. Not a perfect solution, but it beats protecting them from everything. I'd rather they find out certain things from me than via the warped information source of the school playground!

  8. Re:Who Knew? on What You Eat Affects Your Genes · · Score: 1

If this is true then there must be an awful lot of people who eat nothing but arseholes.

  9. Re:THIERRY on New Images of Tumbling US Satellite From Theirry Legaullt · · Score: 2

First thing I noticed. But do please note that the BBC has it spelled two different ways. Sloppy.

  10. Re:Who still remembers on Why Aren't There More Civilians In Military Video Games? · · Score: 1

That was not the purpose. But in order to get ahead it was necessary.

  11. Re:We don't need Military Games for killing civili on Why Aren't There More Civilians In Military Video Games? · · Score: 1

I've been playing Carmageddon recently. Great fun. You don't have to kill pedestrians but you stand very little chance of finishing any of the races if you don't! I read somewhere that in Germany the pedestrians were changed to zombies. My version has the red blooded humans. Cunning Stunt Bonus!

  12. Re:Players do bad things because: on Why Aren't There More Civilians In Military Video Games? · · Score: 1

At last someone mentioned Carmageddon. Well done sir. I have been playing that recently and it is great fun. Thing is, in most of the races you must kill the pedestrians to have any chance of completing the race. You really don't have a choice!

Never heard of the Beetles. Are they any good?

Oh dear. Mensa Babe cannot spell 'superior'.

  15. Re:The Black Death isn't coming back on Scientists Sequence Black Death Bacteria · · Score: 3, Funny

What happened was labour was in short supply so the peasants got to name their price for the work they did. Previously they were considered lucky to have a roof over their heads and enough to eat.

  16. Re:The Black Death isn't coming back on Scientists Sequence Black Death Bacteria · · Score: 1

    Swine flue? Pig chimney!

  18. Re:I'm sorry... on The 2011 Hugo Awards · · Score: 1

later than? Verne - pulp? Oh you poor ignorant sod. Why is this so USocentric anyway? And what about H.G.Wells for crying out loud? Why the need to type 'pulp'. Is there something magic about the word? What? America invented Science Fiction? They must have, they discovered the moon and walked on it first! Stupid.

  21. Re:If it was anyone other than Ridley Scott on Ridley Scott To Direct New Blade Runner Movie · · Score: 1

Yes, and really the several Transformers TV series were just glorified ads for the toys. They were great fun, sure, but they were ads. I pretty much agree with you about the films.

  22. Re:Who mentioned the iPad? on Pricing: Apple Defies Australian Government · · Score: 1

What about all of the other music services? I'm not recommending any particular one (I only use them to sell, not to buy), but there are many with various different price structures. EMusic, Amazon and loads more. Maybe one of them might have better pricing for your region. Might even find better quality music files on offer.

  23. Re:More time? on Interview With GNOME 3 Designer Jon McCann · · Score: 1

That sentence needs some serious polishing! 'There's always things...'. What kind of grammar is that? I won't even bother with the rest.

  24. Re:The government on NASA Shoots Down Comet Elenin Doomsday Predictions · · Score: 1

I slept very badly lastnight. So if I listen to/read more government lies I should be able to get a better night's sleep. Is that what you are saying? I have to admit I have been paying no attention to the news lately. Serves me right!
