I own an iPod, and enjoy it muchly, but sometimes the scroll wheel actually annoys me. It makes it much more difficult to go one item down in the menu. Sometimes I wish there was up/down buttons in addition, but then Apple tells me I shouldn't think this way, so I don't.
So if I am understanding you correctly, then a market-driven Microsoft monopoly is a bad, horrible, unethical thing but a government-mandated Unix monopoly is a good thing?
Clearly these people have not talked to the developer community in designing these chairs. I see no Dr. Pepper / Red Bull holders nor any place to set your half-eaten bag of Cheetos.
This sort of book is really cool to see. Perhaps I just wasn't looking closely enough, but Perl seemed to be lagging far behind J2EE/.NET in terms of web services (and XML in general) and I now I have a little more ammo to sell Perl to my boss with!/plans trip to bookstore at lunch.
