    Once you get up to a certain size, it becomes economical to have a company engineer a solution for your data-center.

    Logitech Harmony remote, you describe your setup to it, and it turns everything on or off, switches the inputs, etc. for everything. This thing even controls my lights and air conditioner. I literally eliminated EVERY SINGLE IR REMOTE in my entire house (like, 15 of them).

    Even my 2 year old can use it to switch from my Dish PVR to the DVD player, including changing the source on the TV and changing the input on the amplifier from Optical to Digital Coax.

    What more can anyone ask for?

    I think you're missing the point. Blogs are just one more way the library is quickly becoming obsolete in our society.

    Why would I even go to the library to look up information about him? I can find all relevant information online. Having blogs about him just add to the global "collective knowledge" and make libraries even less relevant.

    Successful "transferring" of conscience should go a little more like this:

    At some point in the future, we will create a device that can interface a human brain with a computer.

    With enough pathways to the network, the user should "feel" and "think" the computer, more and more.

    Eventually, the lines between that person's "self" and the computer "continuum" will be increasingly blurred. The human will become less and less aware of what's going on in his brain vs. the computer, and maybe not even care.

    I would expect at some point, the body will die, and if enough "blending" of computer/human has occurred, you might not even notice the difference.

    Neat.
