If you're in the business of being a political pundit, you want to read everything you can so you can talk about it. You need to see the opinions you disagree with too
Personally I think that EVERYONE should do this. Even if you don't agree or even fully understand what you are reading, as long as it has *some* relevant information, I think its important to hear other ideas. Otherwise you are pigeon holing yourself without fully exploring other possbilities.
It really seems obvious, but how many people do it? How many people get offended or just disagree and stop reading. They become blind to the other side of all things they believe in/stand for. Just my opinion.
The thing is, there's a difference between "vegetarians" and "vegans". I haven't found vegetarians to be much of a problem; they usually have no trouble finding stuff to eat. The problem is vegans.
Two solutions for this problem: 1: Free Range Vegans (mmmmm...tasty!) 2: Set them loose into a pen of hungry dogs and they will quickly learn thier place in the food chain.
Humans don't develop this ability until 1 or 2 years of age. So maybe we should use infants for mine detection?;)
I am all for it, Hell yes lets suit up the infants. Also help the worlds over crowding and get some of those screaming brats off the bus/train/plane(s). Sounds like a win, win, win situation. Ideas are Mod proof! haha.
what they invented a STD that made your penis longer, or one that made your breasts larger (depending on gender). This really could be the wave of the future - certain people becoming sexually appealing due to designer viruses they carry.
And if you "get around a lot" you will soon be mammothed proportions and style will be of very little consequence. There is such a thing as TOO big, perhaps your spam was mis-leading....
I probably should....but does anyone remember the Good Times episode where the younger son was doing reasearch on the USSR. The feds started questioning everyone he knew, his father lost his job so on and so forth.
Bring back McCarthy! In so many ways I feel like the Govt is acting like a cornered badger, and I am honestly not sure who is more scared, us or Govt.
People need to learn if you don't like DRM then don't buy products that use them
That is exactly why I only buy my music on vinyl. The format has been tested and true, relative ease to rip into mp3 and it always, always sounds better than any other format.
Your data should be treated like what your mom said about underwear. She always said you better have a clean set just in case you get hit by a bus and have to go to the hospital; you better have a clean pair.
I've always had a problem with that adage. The reason being, if you got hit by a bus, hit hard, really hard, espically if you got killed. There is a pretty good chance of soiling yourself, from pain or death causing you to lose control. Clean underwear is going to do little good there. Granted its a small possibility, but then again so is being hit by a bus.
I applude you and your efforts. I knew that whole dental care was a scam. When my current teeth decide to vacate, I will just get new ones. I knew the day would come, no more hearing "thats only set of teeth you'll ever have" and so forth. Finally my day has arrived.
And which group is this? Computer nerds with too much time on their hands?
Actually I was refering to the "Gubment". The idea that we can "knock" someone off line under the context they are spewing out "garbage", leaves a lot of open doors. Whatever we can do, the folks making the rules can do ten fold. That may be pushing along laws that we are not going to be fond of in the end. Perhaps I should have been more clear.
Homer and Marge, where?

I take it that was a farce. By the way, just to be that guy, that was truckasaurus
I want legislation to make it legal and justified. I see it as self defense
Yes and no. It wouldn't work. You are giving way too much power to a group that already has too much power. The good effects would be far out wieghed by the negative. Soon after something like this was passed it would be seen as an intrusion of electronic rights, which to some degree it would be. Good on paper, bad in practice. Oh hum, back to the drawing board.
Nope, McGyver helped discover Atlantis in one of the movies alright
Wrong again, it was Scrooge McDuck in Duck Tales. Geeze do you people know nothing of history? Why do you think these cartoons are aired? You were supposed to be taking notes damnit.
How the hell can this be modded as over rated? It was never rated to begin with outside of idiot moderators rating it over rated. Perhaps flamebait would have been the appropriate choice.
One of the bigger news breaks in a while, and/. is quiet. However, the article is/.ed, does this mean that the/.ers are actually reading the article? My god, it is the end of the world....
Anyone remember the old roleplaying game Cyberpunk? Where you could drop into the local "doctors" office and get a chip inserted in your brain for a very reasonable price.
When I was a kid I thought that was a great idea. Grown a bit older, I am thinking not so much. I would rather earn my knowledge/skills than have them plugged in. What is knowledge and skill without expierence and wisdom. I realize that is not the topic of the article, but the concept is coming much closer to reality than when I used to play Cyberpunk.

Our close relatives, the chimpanzees, are considerably stronger, pound-for-pound
Well, that really depends. If its a scary monkey than its 10 to 1, or if its a cute monkey its 2 to 1. Space Ghost told me, so I know its true.

Will this give the US more of an impetus to create more "homeland security" laws. Hence taking away more rights.

You know what they say 97.89% statistics are made up on the spot....
This was obviously a farce from the get go. Mp3's open people up to music they would have never bought, same can be said with libraries and books.
So is the US going to bomb Sega too?

In Soviet Russia, Sharman squeezes YOU!
Yes ok it was funny. But please, please make it stop. It hurts and it only encourages the rest. Oh make the hurting stop. Someone!
This is why I read slashdot. Bravo man, bravo.

Hey right on my birthday. A present from the pirates, better than the eye patch I got last year.
