Most, but not all, passengers on flights ignore the stews all flight except when they want something from the stews. Meanwhile they put up with rude people who feel that what they want and need is more important than anyone elses needs on the flight, no matter what.

If you aren't old enough we require you and your legal guardian sign it.

In 10 years we have never had a problem with theft or damage of another person's gear.

Mostly our problems have been with the younger teens that can't handle losing and start smashing their own gear in frustration. Them and cheaters are the biggest non-network related problems you will most likely face.

Use the waiver that Ash mentions above and make sure EVERYONE signs it BEFORE they get in. No sign, no enter. PERIOD.

Running a party is a lot of work, but it can be a VERY satisfying experience as well.

As much work as it can be, tailor your resume to fit their req and then list other skills as needed. For some reason corporate america wants to pigeon hole people and then climb on their case for not learning a variety of knowledge.
I spent 14 years on the server hardware and OS side of the house, but also learning things like web servers, email servers, SNA, Citrix, VMWare. All that it got me was a tough time getting a new contract when the last one was ending because my list of knowledge made it seem like I was either over qualified, under qualified, or bragging because I couldn't possibly have that much experience in all those areas.

I finally took a job that underpaid and worked my way up in the company. Then I transfered into a new department to learn that area. My past experience suddenly paid off for them because I could talk the talk the talk with the server teams and keep our department aware of what was coming when the staff couldn't understand what the server team was talking about. It took my bosses some time to realize the value that provides, and now I am being called on to sit in on meetings that involve both sides of the house.

Do what it takes and keep your eyes on your goals, but be willing to undersell some of your skills to get in the door and then dazzle them with how much you really do know.

It does make sense though. Anytime you have a group of gamers together they naturally want to compete and prove who is better. The Arenas give them that venue. Having pro sponsors is even more likely when you consider that Blizzard is already running a tournament to find out who is the best in the Arenas as it is.

I say good for them. If they can find someone to sponsor them, go for it. Although I think it might be harder to have the sponsor's name out there since we are limited in the way we name things.

Personally, I have been on those long epic PvP struggles. I led a guild who caused one of the first major PvP wars on the Twisting Nether server. There were 120+ players on each side fighting in the Southshore/Tarren Mill area, outside of the Battlegrounds. The lag was high at times due to the numbers of players, but the level of fun was even higher. I know from personal experience that you can successfully run PvP raids without going into the organized BGs for the points.

Personally I am not excited to play the Battlegrounds. After the 2.0 patch most people I know were grinding Honor in the BGs and insisting that I should as well. Meanwhile I was out there in the regular areas working on questing and grinding rep and killing Horde as I encountered them. I don't have the Honor points they have or the equipment they have now, but I have a lot more quests done and more rep since they were all busy in the BGs leaving me less people to contend with for resources. Oh yeah, I still have great gear and the Horde that are wearing the gear they worked in the BGs for are having a tough time taking me down still.

So they are taking a maintenance day today, big deal. They never said that there would be no more of them, only that they were going to be working to reduce the need for them. Merry Christmas, you didn't have to miss a day of grinding the BGs last week. You do this week, nothing has changed. In the meantime I am going to stay upstairs and spend time with the woman that was crazy enough to marry me. If she is nuts enough to do that she deserves to my attention.

Look, this isn't really anything different from the past few years. "The games are violent and kids are getting violent because of it" and "Parents are failing to monitor the kids play"... hmm could there be a link? Perhaps the problem isn't about the violence of the game, but rather a failure of parents to manage the kids time playing the games.

I applaud the earlier poster who stated that his kids don't have time for games because they keep them busy with chores, etc. I believe kids should be able to play but their time should be moderated and limited.

I have several friends that use games as a carrot for good behaviour. If the kids are behaving, doing their chores, and getting good reports from school etc, then they get a hour or two credited to their "playtime bank". The kids have learned that failing to do as expected will cost them the credit and maybe cost them some time they have stored up. These same kids are learning to save up time so that they can go with dad to LAN parties and play, or spend a little more time one night playing that favourite game. But they are still limited in the amount of time they can play.

The games they play are checked out by the parents before the kids even get to play them. It helps that their father is a gamer as well, but at least he is taking the initiative to monitor what his kids are doing. I wonder if a large portion of the problem comes from the way many of our generation was raised. Our parents would put a tape in the VCR and let the boob tube babysit us. As we grew up we began to trust the screen to be friendly and so if the game is on a square glowing screen it must be OK, and we don't have to be engaged with our kids at all. Just feed them, send them to school and take them to sports.

I find it interesting that every time privacy is brought up, this is the phrase that we hear EVERY time. However, I never hear anyone ask them a simple question in response --- "Do you close the door when using the public restroom?" Think about it, you close the door because you really don't want to be bothered, or bother others when partaking of the facilities. Do you keep the door on your house closed? Do you publicly post your account balance and how much you do, or do not, make at your job? Do you make your health records public?

The answers to these questions are exactly why there are privacy measures. Somethings are important to me that I do not want you knowing. Some people are more careful about the information they allow out than others, but being as we are in the USA, we enjoy the right we have to privacy.

Simply put, the simple response to that stupid statement is a series of equally stupid questions.

Games: Pretty much any PC game out there, which has a multiplayer option, has to connect to a "server" and get the packet updates for the game from that computer. How is it that they are willing to sue MS for Live, but not the various game companies for their "infringment"? Heck just think of the money they could get from the likes of Blizzard and Sony alone.

I am not a lawyer, I don't play one on TV, and I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I would think that this case needs to be thrown out on the basis that they don't have a leg to stand on. Mainly because I believe there is plenty of previous art to invalidate the patent itself. They filed for the patents in 1996, and received it 1998 (I think I read that correctly). I have ben playing multiplayer games a lot longer, and working on computer networks even longer. But then this is our legal system and patent system we are talking about, like it or lump it.
