What kind of responsibility do the game makers have to keeping a historical game accurate? Will new games need to be developed as learning games, or will they only spark in interest, and people will still need to pick up a book to get more information?

When Microsoft gives their browser away for free. Why would they care which one you use to view their web site. I know the problem is real, I experienced it myself.
Settling is not the same as admitting guilt, which would have been mush more satisfying.
Buzzsaw is an amazing piece of software that many companies in the A/E industry use. It's not free, but if you're rolling you own it's a good place to get some ideas.
Have any games/mods considered rubberbanding health like many race games do with speed? Seems something like this would make it more interesting for experts and less frustrating for beginners.
I believe in open source (or at least want to). But I think money rules in this world. If you look at other forms of Media and Art, giving stuff away won't get movies like Matrix made.
This is not to say that there are not many, many very good independent films. I'm just saying that maybe Linux and other Open Source projects are trying to hard to get the wrong market.
With "limited" resources a focus should be made to take the server market from M$, drop the GUI crap, Linux WON'T win on the desktop (at least not yet). But can easily win on the server.
I'm not sure it's even worth looking at the data if we can't have some idea of the level of false positives. If you can find 1 out of 1000 criminals that walk by seems that it might be worth it?
What you don't want is harassing innocent people. If we can aviod that, I don't see where the problem is.
At my office we use M$ Office and we do a lot of customization to it. I've never used Open Office but seeing as we get raped every year it might be nice to have an alternative.
So, what kind of developmet does Open Office allow? And does it support database intergration and intergration with Exchange?
It look to me that these are designed for adults. It looks a lot slimmer and inconspicuous. Could this mean Nintendo is moving toward a more adult audience?
Have each client do the OCR (if you can find GPL software). Or maybe there's a company willing to donate it. That way you could farm out most of the processing too.
This might be a stupid question but why is this such a huge deal.
It's just a few days, what do they think will happen? Heck, most fans have preordered the book months ago. How could this effect sales?
Seems to me Google does some things simply for intellectual curiosity, then ends up figuring out a way to make money off it.

I've heard stories of tribes in Australia having the same "problem".
They couldn't count above 3, but if they had 200 sheep they could instantly tell if one was missing.
Maybe they know exactly how many sheep they have, but no way to verbalize it. Simply because they have no need to.
This looks like an online version of Car Wars. Which was a fantastic game on paper, I hope it's done justice online.

I wonder if they will use a BitTorrent or other P2P type download? Defer some of the cost on the server end, thus, giving it away for free.

It seems to me that wheels are faster than legs anyway. What is the obsession with getting robots to look and do things like humans.

How about spending a year at Hogwarts yourself. Is the "Potterverse" too small? Just a thought.
What are opinions on why it's so important? What would life on mars, or evidence of past life on Mars tell us?
I say give all the kids guns.
