To be noted is that he made the speech (look for the "Think Different" section) at the famous Indian Institute of Information Technology (India's foremost academic institution equivalent to MIT).
Huh. And I always thought India's foremost academic institution was CalTech--Calcutta Technical Institute!
Density is the key. The last time I went to San Francisco I drove there from LA, then parked my car in the hotel lot and left it there. For the duration of my trip I walked everywhere I wanted to go, or took a bus if it was too far to walk. But driving was a nightmare while walking was actually quite nice.
I've strongly considered buying a hard drive player, but I'm slightly worried about failure. It'd be nice to move my mp3 collection over to a 60gig player and free up some space, but what if the player gets fried? I suppose I could burn backups to CD too, and I suppose I should anyway, but regardless harddrives are very potentially faulty things.
Are you implying that you don't have the original CDs for all of your music? I'd be on the lookout for guys in black trench coats & sunglasses if I were you...
I suspect this is more for backbone support rather than for last mile. Data transmission has a bitch of a time with stepdown transformers, which you've got everywhere that high voltage transmission is lowered to a more reasonable voltage for residential distribution.
If Bill Campbell is on Apple's board, why the hell does Quicken for the Mac suck so hard? There are fewer features in my copy of Quicken 2003 than there were in Quicken '99 for Windows. What the hell?
Damn, and I thought Whitney Houston was a bad interviewee. Doesn't Bill realize that a few hundred thousand geeks (probably a good portion of his fan base) reads Slashdot? I suggest he go and read the Cathy Rogers Q&A for an example of how to do it right. Sheesh.
My kids are aged 11, 7 and 3. All of them are computer savvy. They use the computer for basically three things: Games, writing papers and chatting with friends, as well as browsing sites that are frequented by children their age...
I would think a stealth shell would be more effective. As has been pointed out many times, any mirror coating is not going to be 100% reflective, and the lasers will be powerful enough to take advantage of the energy that is absorbed by the target.
However, if the tracking system can't find the shell, there's no way to point the laser at it.

Any of you Homos touch me ... and I'll kill ya!

Try having the name 'Garth'. 1977 was the worst year of my life.
Don't feed the trolls.
Just think: you'll be able to spy on your hottie neighbor with delicious color & resolution... Mmmmmmm........
Your proposal is accepted.
I'll be walking around in my new trentfoley suit later on today.
Did you miss the part about how the piano was requested by the tribe for their Sunday church services?

I believe this is the same method used to create the 'Thomas the Tank Engine' series.
What, you've never seen a Borg ship?

The new math?
Or a voice claiming to be God, commanding me to stop playing with myself.
It is God!!

Cause then they'd have to call it SkyNet. And as we all know,
SkyNet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14am Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
Sarah Connor: And, SkyNet fights back.
heck most of these places are required to have TTY phones and operators to handle calls from the deaf, why the decision to ignore the blind?
So they've got TTY phones for the deaf, but they don't have regular phones for the blind?
I mean "LEADER!"
That's not a review. That's a recap.
