It seems to be a wireless vs. wired problem. On the cable, no problems. However, I did have a problem last night during an update, which was after the review was written. That seemed to be more of a CPU time issue than network connectivity.

The hard armour and the jacket saved me from a broken arm. My leather gloves kept my hands clean, and the jeans split at the center seam.

The results we a broken tailbone and a tiny bit of rash on my ace. I skidded over 25 ft and it's amazing what jeans will protect you from.

  11. Networking and being an expat on Exporting Myself? · · Score: 1

A few other people commented that networking is what the difference is. I can't reinforce that more. I lived in Europe for a couple years, working for a medium sized software firm. The reason I had that job (and the two other offers at the time) was because I networked. A history prof from my university happened to have a friend of his wife's who was the HR director of the software firm.

When it came time to leave that firm, I was unable to find anything in that country. The reason was that I didn't network enough to find someone willing to take the chance on a foreigner w/o citizenship or a work permit.

I returned to the US and continued networking and relied on my old contacts to keep me working. It has made all the difference.

Being an expat is tough. Being an expat w/o contacts or a right to work is nearly impossible.

Mentioning the projects you were involved in, the groups you were a part of, etc, on the other hand, show a whole other set of skills that the employer can exploit (and that you can get paid for).

As well, compare law school. Not very many top law schools offer a program for "working professionals." They expect you to put the world on hold for 3 years and concentrate on the law. Check out US News and World Report's law school comparison. My boss has an MBA from U of M. One of his profs said that it doesn't matter which school you go to in terms of what you learn. Instead you pay for the school with the most strict admissions. Potential employers know a rigorous school such as U of M B-school, Harvard, Yale, etc will have a much larger expenditure on their admissions dept. Phoenix U will take anyone with the money. Yale will only take you if you meet their stringent requirements and have the money.

Might as well pay for the best label. Not too mention, a number of respectable schools have online course structures.

Although you might not be a better person for going to a given school, if the guy thinking about hiring you is impressed, it will be worth the extra time/hassle/money.

My US money was taxed in the US and my foreign in that country. No sense in wasting time figuring out the details and legal technicalities. If that were the case, your bike battery wouldn't recharge. Your generator produces AC, the it is regulated and rectified down to ~12v DC.

You have a 12v DC system that will have a tendency to fluctuate within a couple volts of 12. So, high RPMs will give you ~13-14v (depending on the regulator) and low will hopefully not drop below 10.

Considering you have a 1cyl bike, that means relatively low rpms (unlike my 4 cyl sport bike, which redlines at 14k), so hopefully the cycles won't be as bad as that.

I would add a second battery as the another poster mentioned to guarantee ~12v, not too mention it is damn handy. My bike died after having the lights on for a 45min traffic jam in Barcelona; 2500km from home. Thankfully, I had a friend and a busy tourist alley (Las Ramblas!) to push start. grin.

Hook the laptop to the second battery.

Also, having traveled extensively on a bike, I would highly recommend getting one of those super small laptops. The 800x400 display isn't nice to work on full time, but the extra space is priceless.

    Good luck.
