  1. control group on Project Copycat Clones A Cat · · Score: 2
The one thing I'm surprised that more cloning advocates don't bring up is the use of cloned organisms in research. Clones should have the same DNA, the same genome. That's a given. Feed one clone a bunch of crap. Don't feed the control clone said crap. See who gets cancer if at all.

Finally be able to say you controlled the experiment fully. None of those pesky but group x got cancer and group y didn't but group x was more prone to cancer kind of issues. Both the experimental group and control have the exact same predisposition. So feeding clones crap causes cancer end of story.

It's called college. And yes I only want knowledge clustered around the wealthy. They tend to vote republican and I intend to run for public office some day. I want the rest of the country to be dumb as a bucket of wet hammers. It makes it easier for the TV to tell them to vote for me.

Not exactly. Someone who speaks spanish might just as easily live in North America, South America or Europe. There is no region coding by printing a book in spanish. Perhaps printing the book in Navaho would be the only way to truly force North American distribution. However simply changing the language isn't much of a technical barrier.

They released American Pie 2 on DVD only. Maybe Harry Potter will force the sale of a couple million Franklen Ebook Readers.

I'm only half kidding here. Maybe it's too soon for the next Harry Potter to go Ebook only but I'd wager that maybe releasing the next one this way might not sound so funny.

And they maybe could add some region encoding so that people couldn't read a book in England that was meant for sale to Americans.

I don't think anyone reads messages with more than a 500 in the thread but I do hope you read this phillymjs. I had the same thing happen to me this week. My wife called on the first delivery attempt. The center closes before the driver returns so you have to wait until the next day to pick it up. She told them she's a teacher and will have to pick it up after school. They gave her directions over the phone to get to the transfer station they would hold the package.

When I got home the next day and saw the second attempt notice I called and yelled at the operator. They admitted my wife called the day before and apolised for the mixup. Then told me they would try a third time the next day. I told them it was unacceptable and if it was Fedex I would have had the package in my hands the night of the first notice. They keep their centers open 2 hours after the trucks return. I demanded they return immediately with my package. The funny thing is they did. Well they returned after all other shipments were attempted but it was the same day.

This is not an isolated incident. UPS knows they get blown away on customer service by every other service. However when you call them to task they sometimes buckle and do the right thing.

Didn't the British just invent a robot that could power itself by eating garden slugs. Perhaps Aibo could use that technology or something similar and then not need the base charger at all.

Real pets can be trained to find the automatic food and water dishes. Then you only have to put out food every other day.

On the other hand feeding is an important part of the pet/owner relationship. So there's no real difference between openning a can and popping the dog into the base charger.

Real pet or robo pet, you have to feed them both. Unless you have barn cats that eat mice and drink rainwater. Then you have the ultimate in self sufficiency. But they're not very cuddly and don't live long.

Anyone with Maryland or Virginia plates were rushed through security (as far as I could tell in the time I waited for my Massachusetts plated car to be searched.) Having spent my summer in Israel where you don't get searched but there is a constant heightened vigilance against any monkee business, I have to say the USA is going about this searching thing half assed.

Unfortunately not every state has good laws. Massachusetts will allow the purchase of alcohol only with a Massachusetts drivers license. The non-driving state ID is actaully not valid for the purchase of alcohol. The US passport or any other foreign passport is not legal for the purchase of alcohol. A New Hampshire drivers license is not valid for the purchase of alcohol.

Places that accept these items are open to severe liability problems as well as loss of their Liquer License.

So basically any national ID will still need to be approved on a state by state basis for use as per local laws.

How to write a Word document and get an Excel spreadsheet to show a simple graph.

We all take the course. Those of us who knew computers before the course get A's and the few who didn't get computers in high school tend to get B's. The next time we see computers will be 5 semesters later when we use the NMR or Mass Spec. Those B's have long since forgotten how computers work.
