    I predict that fashion will adapt to mass surveillance and people will start to dress and make-up in a variety of ways intended to thwart automated ID and tracking systems. Fake beards, mustaches, eye patches, sunglasses, makeup, mixed shoes (platform on one foot, sandal on the other, etc.), leg braces, walking sticks, surgical masks, hats that cover different parts of the face, etc.

    The principals in a biotech company made a couple billion $ and then ran out of patients? Boo-hoo.

    If you develop a cure for one disease, you may run out of patients who need that cure, but there are always other diseases that need to be cured. If you don't want to risk your money on the development of another cure, retire to your private island and let someone else do the work.

    Yeah, I suppose you're right. Civilization and society have no benefit to anyone and we should all be able to just do whatever we want whenever we want to do it. I mean, what's the point of having laws? I don't want some people I don't know telling me what I can and can't do. Screw that. Why should those people have authority over me just because I happen to live in the same country or state, or city as them? I didn't ask them to build all those roads and utility systems that have been around since before I was born. Why should I pay taxes to maintain, repair, or expand them? Let it all fall apart.

    Vaccines are not 100% risk free. That said, the risk of injury from the vaccine is many orders of magnitude lower than the risk from the disease, so yes, vaccinate.

    Measles has long and short term effects. Some die in the short term. Others suffer the effects years later. Short term or long term, both have a negative effect on society/economy.

    When idiots and people with bad intent are given as loud a voice as people with expertise and good intention, the result is anarchy, schemes like Bitcoin, and unqualified people getting elected to public office. The only ways to combat it are to teach critical thinking skills and start requiring some basic qualifications other than having access to a computer, to gain access to platforms that amplify a person's influence.

    This doesn't make any sense.

    Let's see, 20 employees at $20/hr x 8 hour shift = $3200/day Ignore overhead like power, water, lease, etc. $3200/1000 screws = $3.20 per screw.

    Were they making them by hand?

    Why didn't Apple just order the screws from China and ship them to the US for the factory to use to assemble the computers?
