Won't work.. they've left pictures all over the pyramids, stone monoliths, etc.. and they didn't write on stone because they were "primitive" but so that future generations would READ it, and nobody's figured out what they really mean yet , or at least the ones who HAVE are called "crackpots" by our "All knowing" overseers
They may be going faster than you when they pass, but their behavior can result in an accident where you hit them anyway. This occurs where they are slowing down or you are speeding up, meaning it is possible for the vehicles to collide despite the fact that they are passing you. This frequently occurs when you are overtaking a vehicle in the lane next to you moving more slowly than yours (usually the right lane in the United States), and someone behind that vehicle in that lane comes up and slips into your lane in front of you, relying on you to change your velocity or acceleration in order not to be hit, or allowing an unacceptably thin margin of error.
Actually, agreed.. its the D*ckheads that pass you and then slam on the brakes.. WTF is going on in their heads?
Sorry but i can't do anything but laugh anytime Mr Ballmer makes a statement about "seriousness".. I still remember this over the top promo ad he did for windows 1x (or was it 2x).. it was perhaps meant to be a satire on TV hucksters, but he pulled it off so convincingly, that one could not help but see him as a TV huckster himself..
Does ANYONE remember this ad, and where the heck did I see it?
We're not going to have a cashless society, until Obama's mandatory chip implant is fully implemented.. as I understand it, the law makes that 2013, so it's not far off. Then all transactions will route through your implant in (likely) your right hand between the thumb and forefinger.. Of course that means if you DONT have the chip you cant buy ort sell anything or get health care either
I agree with the poster above... and frankly, I am shocked, and sickened , at the hard line attitude prevalent on this board, that 1) 12$ an hour is a "living wage", and 2) a "living wage" is not necessary in the first place, for EVERYBODY..Look , students and teens are subject t a different wage classification anyways, so that's a bogus argument.. I assume most everybody here actually has HAD a job in the past, so you must know that you dont get all of your wages in a pay packet. I don't know what y'all down in the states lose, but here it can be $200 to $300 per month.. and unless "daddy" GAVE you a free car (mine didn't!!)n you have to go BUY one so as to get to work.. and since you can't pay for one all uy front., you have to make payments.. now maybe you'll be lucky enought to be able to take the bus to work, so it's only $50 for a bus pass per month, but more probably you might be one of the 50% that do not live close to work.. so maybe $200 more a month. fo9r a reliable used car.. OK so you've still got 1200$ left, assuming you worked all 160 hours every 4 weeks...Not living with your mom?..
OK, another 800$ out the window.. where I live, in western CAnada, there is NO POSSIBILITY WHATSOEVER of finding a rental for less, even a vbacjhelor.. unless you want to live in a welfare building with crackheads and a community toilet and kitchen for 400$ per month.. and they're already full up.. which is why our homeless is the highest in Canada.. so you've got 200 more after that for utilities, and cable.. if you're lucky.. as utility rates have skyrocketed here.. and 200 for food.. No clothes, or gas, or medical, personal or other sundry..That's not a "living wage" thats a "subsistence" wage, and if a crisis comes, you're headed right for the welfare lines.. and, hey, good luck there, these days!
Well, unfortunately, it's become clear to me that (especially in the "West") the majority appear not to want to pay the price it's become more about "Free" these days than "Freedom"
I'm housebound, essentially, any dreams of being able to travel are as unlikely as dreams of waking up to find out I'm "Gill Bates" (or is that a nightmare;-)
Googlemaps/Streetview/Earth has given me the ability to travel intercontinentally , with no TSA "patdowns' I might add;-)
You either have a majority which dictates what will happen ( democracy ) , or a minority who dictates what will happen ( tyranny , oligarchy , etc... ).
Democracy may not always work well, but it's a hell of a lot better than the alternatives.
Everyone is a majority and a minority, depending on your view of legislation ( there will be things you agree with the majority, and other things where you don't, making you a minority ).
You just have to trust that people are diverse enough to make a collective decision which benefits everyone.
OK.. *show* me any election, anywhere, that genuinely elected their government by a majority... Meaning.. 51% or more of the populace..
All democracies consist of leaders supported by a minority of the population, and in a multiparty situation the government can win with only 12% of the vote.. even if they appear incapable of *forming* one, as in Greece
Another comment you made "Because of this fact, recordings probably shouldn't be viewed as a product but rather as marketing." goes to the very heart of the matter.. Fact is.. for the first 50 years.. that's EXACTLY what records were FOR.. nobody made money off records.. it was the shows, only.. why d'ya think Muddy played at Pepper's EVERY blinking day.. even when he was sick? he'd already received his $500 for making the record.. and if I'm not mistaken, Willie Dixon was the Chess *Janitor* as well as House bassist and A&R guy..
At least, before the Beatles changed the nature of the recording industry forever..
A very good summary.. however, the promotion that a label was able to accomplish, and their ability to cover expenses touring, until there was some net benefit in exposure, was priceless.. Doing it on one's own is damn near impossible. I have an album from an old band of mine, posted FREE at http://docrockstudio.blogspot.ca/2012/04/i-finally-caught-it.html , and I have had NO responses or even feedback , at all. Period. It's not a heavily trafficked blog , but even so, it goes to show the sheer impossibility of the situation. The other real problem , is the lack of venues. Now that so many clubs have gone "house", and no longer hire working bands, especially in Canada, it's near impossible to support a band unless everybody in it is independently wealthy
Do they realize how many poor people have given themselves an education through the internet? As well as the many poor, seniors, and disabled who rely on it for access to easily accessed, cheap entertainment.. this will SHUT out the lower income.. it's loke going back to the old modem days.. with the shock surprise bills you got (What? I was on line for that long? You want HOW MUCH?)
Except.. i believe. didn't He say "As freely as you have received, freely give also.." I frankly find the whole "business" side of religion distasteful.. and the Pentecostals (like the TV preachers) are the worst, but also the "Christian" entertainment.. if a Christian wants to make money in the arts, fine, but if you're going to wrap it up as "Testimony" that's where I draw thew line as to whether it should be sold..
I am Christian (Catholic) myself, and I don't begrudge fair wages for efforts earned,, but NOT for testimony of ANY kind, whether it's that 59.95 "package" on the TV preachers channel about "Here's some Good News" or the Christian rocker's "Golly Gee I'm soo Happy I'm Sick" album.. (I was a musician for years and I simply didn't play offensive music.. it was secular, and so was valid to charge for)..
And when Bibles are translated, the work is already long ago done and paid for.. the Catholic Bibles were done at The Vatican, and the protestant ones were done by Ol King James.. who had plenty of money, thank you, after robbing all the catholic churches of their gold...
Most Bibles are given away.. People that buy fancy Bibles are just buying them for the "Status" IMHO....
Actually a judge just nearly did this, after 30 trillion dollar copyright suit entered by either the RIAA or the MPAA.. I can't recall who the defendant was, but it was all over the news either yesterday or today. The judge basically called the plaintiffs idiots ant the amount ludicrous, and threw it out..
Wow.. thanks for the heads up on Reaper.. I'm a retired musician, but I still like to get down n dirty.. but after OSX upgrade after upgrade, all my no longer any good licences of those Xpensive sloow behemoths didn't endear me to rejoin the treadmill...
I may be worse off RELATIVE to MY past, but in terms of human history we live like KINGS, and people like you tend to forget facts like that.
Agreed.. you only have to walk into any supermarket to see that!
Y'all down in the States can STILL do a write-in for Ron Paul in your election.,. you DO know that, right?
Is the new "Secret Internet Piracy Service"? The old Secret Service might have a word or two about that one...

Steve: DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS Steve: GET OUTTA HERE /CHAIR
Steve: GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE Steve: I WILL SPEND EVERY DOLLAR THAT APPLE HAS TO BANKRUPT AND DESTROY GOOGLE. THEY ARE THIEVES!!!
Do I need to continue?
"I WILL SPEND EVERY DOLLAR THAT MICROSOFT HAS TO BANKRUPT APPLE" er., wasn't that the latest headline? Like peas in a pod, brother...

You know, the clearly dilsectic person who wrote that famous scrawl on the wall back in 60's UK, really meant to say "Clapton is good" ;-)

You may still have the penny, but perhaps we don't have zinc miners here in Canada, as the penny is going bye bye ;-(
And it appears that M$ chose the name with great care.. as in "don't look beneath the..."

Yeah, but at this point Apple's bulletproof.. He wouldn't be the only one with his hand on the tiller..
