I've noticed something very similar to this effect. Part of my job involves flame testing materials. This one plastic I often encounter burns and leaves a dripping on the aluminum plate I'm working on. The dripping is solid, but when I hit it with the torch, it melts (spreads out thin) but then re-solidifies (all curled up like crinkled paper) while the flame is still on it. When I remove the heat, it just stays at the second shape. I can reapply heat and it will go through the same process.....
While these plants are all great in their own way (better to use the waste than just to let it rot), 500 b of oil per day is NOTHING. Worldwide consumption is like 20-22 MILLION b per day. The US is somewhere around 6? million....
Production on a MUCH larger scale will be required for these plants to have any real impact..
I really can't stand people over-quoting each other. Just because someone else said something, doesn't somehow make that statement more valid. Please leave your Einstien and Ben Franklin *quotes* at home.....you act like they never said anything stupid in their lives.
The artical says GSM phone.....what if you live somewhere that has no GSM coverage? I mean, if you aren't near a coast or a heavily populated area, you kinda screwed no?
Then again, I'm sure they'd just have you call some number otherwise...
I really should think before I post./all spelling errors intentional
As a whole, passanger trains in the US do not make money. Trains make sense when a centralized population wants to go to a centralized business district. For the majority of our population, this is NOT true. Private vehicles are the logical result

Whoop-de-doo.....just because the code is freely available doenst somehow make it "good". Chances are, if you are the type who needs a feature, you aren't the type who is willing to spend 100s of hours writing it.
GIMP is like a hobby toy......and PS is for grown ups. There's nothing wrong with it, its just the way things are.
You use a seperate ad blocker? How retro. Just use Mozilla, and block images from the ad server...

Umm....
If UltraCompuMegaCorp is selling 2000 widgets and you are only selling 100....you don't see something inherently bad happening there? With larger production, their cost per unit will decrease, advert $ can increase, name recog will rise, more R&D money and so on...
Loss of market share sucks. Big time. That is exactly why it is so often cited as such an important metric.
With a few (arguable) exceptions, niche products usually die when overcome by the industry at large. And cost is the reason....

low margin != low price. What this is suggesting is that the ipod is rather expensive for apple to make.. soemthing I somehow don't really believe, which makes me doubt the entire article.
Yeah, because Money magazine has some secret vendetta against Apple. They are secretly MS fanboyz!@#@# OMG teh suxor and all that crap.
Anyhow, the financial numbers don't lie. Loosing market share and shrinking margins is usually a pretty sure sign a company is in decline. No need to be testy, it just happens.
The article criticizes outlook for having too many features that people will never use, yet it also considers a lack of support for server side IMAP searches a "con".
Am I crazy, or is it safe to say that most folks have no idea what a server side IMAP search is. I'll bet next to no one will even miss it....
Overall though, not a horrible review. I mean, I was expecting some horribly off kilter "MS suxor" message or something...
You know what would be a great idea? X. Too bad it would cost a bunch of money to develop X into something usefull...if only there were some way to help try to ensure that I could recover the money I spend developing it...
Sorry if this is offtopic, but I just have to say it. I realllly hate it when people whip out "In the long run we're all dead". That phrase is like, the end all of cop outs.
Why bother going to school? Why save money for the future? Why read/.? Why bother doing ANYTHING that isnt just instantly gratifiying? After all, IN THE LONG RUN, WE'RE ALL DEAD.
Please tell me you're kidding. Do you acutally think MS is going to call their next gen OS "Longhorn" once it is released? They have spent YEARS building that brand name, they aren't just going to abandon it...
New from Microsoft, LONGHORN! "Dude, what's longhorn" "It's their new OS" "You mean like Windows?" "Yeah"
If they aren't trying to mimic MS Windows then why take a name so remarkably close to it? It is so totally obvious. Lindows is trying to ride on Ms's coat tails. The product may be totally different, but that isn't the point. Its just like that Panaphonics VCR, or that Magnetbox TV...
Why not try "Linux ADVANCE OS" or something. Hell, Linux itself is becoming a buzzword now....

Heh, have I made a major discovery??
You think so? How often are the news reports something like "1 american and 12 insurgents were killed when....". Hell, 12 is lowballing it too...
I stand corrected. Thank you

Check out the MTBF on the printer:
1 year at 75% duty cycle. That's AWFUL....unlike my modern Lexmark, which only cost me $40, I mean that thing lasted.....oh wait
At least todays crappy printers don't weigh 44 freakin pounds..
