Well, it was a bit more complicated than that. At the outset PPC did outperform x86. Good reason to use it. x86 caught up and PPC development was clearly not going to be able to support notebook computing (which is why you never had a iBook G5). At that point it was a good business decision to switch. Apple even made it amazingly simple to migrate apps from PPC to x86 as long as you took their giant repeated hints to use xCode - something that Adobe just didn't pay attention to. Their nonsense was probably the biggest user-facing bump in the switchover.
The idea that you can't be creative after 75, or "contribute" (he really means make money for someone) or be a blessing to your friends, neighbors and family is utter rubbish. And the idea that you are burdensome to the point of giving up is even worse. When my father at 85 was in the last stages of RCC I realized I had a long way to go to help him with everyday functions, seeing as he did the same for me for the first several years of my life. I wouldn't trade the last ten years of his life for anything. The idea that I help my 84 year old mom out with tasks that would drain her is hardly a burden. If I get to the point where I don't have the time or inclination to do so, then *I* am the one who has run out of importance.
That would be the EX part. They're not all dead yet. The reservation list following 2001's release was an asset that had to be dealt with in their bankruptcy. The flight academy is the only remaining division.
I believe you've answered this in the spirit of the OP - this teacher came to a site that's well-versed in FOSS and asked a simple question. Mileage varied.
isn't an expert at everything. He wanted Apple to spend much of their cash reserve to buy back stock. Which would only enrich people like him who were in AAPL post-peak price (I believe he was in at an avg $400). These are the sorts of things you can do with their kind of money in the bank that will make you lots more money in the long run. Shareholder return is one of the things that needs to be balanced against the other things a company does.
have at least enough tech savvy to be brought in and allowed to follow a defined plan, but I'd heard from at least one NASA staffer that several of them were told to do only certain things and beyond that don't touch a %$@!*^ that thing you're not asked to.
Years ago he gave a talk in which he suggested one of the shuttles be fitted with a pressurized bay, double decker. The top layer of seats were (over)paid for by well-heeled people, with top-facing portholes, the lower deck with standard jetliner style windows and available for free on a lottery.
The reason it became a widespread thing was that it was actually a widespread thing. In the late 1800s bananas became so popular that coupled with the practice of the day to leave garbage out on urban streets, rotting banana peels were in fact a noted hazard.
Personal devices and hdd / cloud backup. I move a lot of data and herd machines all day long at work. At work. I would no sooner bring that level of stuff home than as a rancher I'd have a horse in the living room (though I know some who let them eat through the kitchen window...)

Have it on my 8GB 4s. It's fine. Had to do it cabled in stead of OTA (needs 4.6GB free to install OTA), but it's working like it did before plus new features. Just pushed through a lab's worth of iPad2 and it's fine there too.
"engineers had to take control of the car twice during the drive." You mean like many of our parents did reflexively when we were learning how to drive? Not to mention the dent in the passenger side floor where the extra brake pedal wasn't.
is all anyone pays attention to. $349 is too much to walk out the door with for the average user who just dropped $199 to walk out the door with the phone. Your theory is correct. The practice at the retail desk may be quite another.
When it drops to $199.
An accessory for your phone shouldn't cost more than the phone.
And yes I know there are kids running around with exhaust and rims worth more than the Civic they're bolted to.
with the intro of EV3 - you could put out the call to FLL message boards to see if people retiring their NXT care to pack it up and send it off. It' still perfectly serviceable (and came with more default sensors than EV3) and since you're not fiddling with innards, the new ideas and extensions of contraptions tend to flow fairly well. Any kits you find have been through a half dozen years of middle schoolers - good luck wrecking them.

Microwaves and dough starches do not play well together.

they've had a waiting list since 1968. Branson? Piker!
Everything runs as before, with some new things that work better. Just upgrade cabled if you can - OTA needs too much space.

for Windows 10 of course.
is low-tech "luddite". Got it.

No, tells me you didn't see the recent data and analysis on Atlantic deep-ocean heat sinks.
