Probably the only application server you can have up and running in 2 minutes. Plus since its all python based, you can get tracebacks and debug the thing live. Lots of cool new method-specific caching features all built in. DAs for lots of different DBs, transactions etc. Solid community, BBSs, CMS, image galleries etc. Check it out! Ya might like it.

Actually I believe you can change the default # based email to a much harder to guess email by filling out a form or something for free. The companies are aware of it.
Its just the form is probably Japanese. You can probably do it over the phone too.
They should have spent less time on Jinroh and more time on Blood. Since everyone knows, vampires and school-girls rule. If you combine the two, its gotta be good right?! Oh and swords... did I forget ze katana?:) Oh for another hour of anime goodness... and an hour less of inexplicable rambling from Jinroh.
Wasn't it suppose to be "Where do you want to go today?"
Ie. The OS's purpose is not to direct the user to sites against their will, but to facilitate the user in choosing where they want to go. Maybe like context menus for files of a type they should add some interface between hardware and the web... so you can choose which you want to use. MS still has a lot to learn from BeOS and OS/2 on file associations, obviously.
Otherwise we will keep seeing these Explorer vs. Netscape battles over your html files. This time battling over your hardware/software connectivity.
There is nothing wrong with registering printing solutions separately from camera hardware, but the OS should provide you with a list of choices which you can sort and delete or filter however you want...easily. It should not get in the way.
The higher pricing is probably because of the distribution companies inside the local country or the local versions of the parent company. The stand in the middle and rip people off school of business...
In Japan a "Pulp Fiction" DVD with Japanese subtitles is about $50... ow. Compared to the US where you can get them for $17. Hmmm... somehow I doubt the translator demands a 50% royalty. Of course you can get the Chinese version for $2 on the street. *wink* *wink*
Recently Warner Brothers has cut all their DVDs down to about $20 in Japan, about half the price of all the others... pretty crazy. So I am in the interesting situation of only being able to afford or justify purchasing DVDs which are from WB. If I want to watch with Japanese friends etc.
Its important to note that "Tonight2" also features strip clubs and "love hotels" regularly with the obligatory pg-13/R? shots. Maybe that's why I watch it so much...
Anyway, I think it was more of an image thing than trying to avoid stolen employees. Like, our employees are so awesome that they might be 'stolen' oh no!
Its not like any employee would put being on Tonight2 on their resume... unless they were applying to some porn sites for web work.
I recommend this Windows soft: JquickTrans
(IMHunbiased?!not!O)
Also this site is a like a proxy that translates webpages and stuff, adding code for pop-up hints on kanji and words, plus more: Rikai
And of course, the only way to really learn a language is to go live where they speak it... which would be good for a lot of Americans. And try not to hang-out with your English speaking friends all the time.
"I'd like to see laptops with VGA-in ports. "
I second that...
Or a pcmcia card that only has a vga in and shuts down the rest of the laptop automatically to save power etc. Then i would have space for more computers... hee hee...
The whole __init__ __setattr__ etc... lots of underscores, hard for new users to understand, hard to tell whether there are two or one underscore involved, difficult to understand whether or not they have special meaning etc. Could this system be replaced with say one leading underscore? "_init" etc...
Yeah I know that would break everyone's code... but in the name of a clean educational language for everyone... please.:)
I think these are just legal scare tactics. They wouldn't waste their time, but hey, if you can scare them off with a letter, might as well try it. (as the lawyer thinking goes)
And it seems like Macworld is a little hard-up for news... if this is the kind of stuff they are reporting on. Now if some legal action was in fact taken there might be something for all ze slashdotters to be fired up and taking to the streets over.
What I would like to see most is a VGA adapter...
Why not use an emulator on a laptop... VAIO + N64 Emu ~= Joy...
Anyone got a big site running on mod_python or mod_snake? Care to post some stats?
Thanks!
Alex.
eh? I worship toilets... no really.

Then how do you explain this? Okay... maybe not hardcore, but I think it's proof of concept.
Hey, looks like the X-Files, Lone Gunman was right about something. Except the part where the good guys win.
The thing will destroy us is the thing we can't or don't stop. I hope its the "can't" option.
Peace.
...so you might as well maximize your satisfaction and that of those around you whilest ya can.
That's the real issue... with millions of robot pets piling up, the world would wish it went with the biodegradable kind.
Doh. I wish I read your whole comment before I replied... and I wish Slashdot allowed you to delete your comments. (does it?)
That's harsh if you still get spam after changing it.

case closed... certainly more intuitive than Illustrator.

Everyone likes to talk about the whitespace... how do you explain the multiple underscores!!!!
Yuck!

This "beastie" is really THE DEVIL mated with a smurf.
What is the shortest article in terms of characters ever posted to Slashdot? Is this it?
