Well, none of them advertise their speeds. They all say "up to". Now if we could get them to advertise "at least" instead that would be a whole different ball park.
Have to agree. Obama "seems" like a good man with good intentions, not to mention a ton of charisma. Problem is that so far he has shown he certainly is not a good leader. Bush, Reagan... love them or hate them, they got exactly what they wanted. Obama got virtually nothing he wanted.
Mittsy, on the other hand, seems to be shifty, coniving and cold hearted. He may be able to get what he wants. Problem is... look what he wants.
Hubbard? Yes he wrote the worst movie ever filmed. Battlefield earth. And yet the book was incredibly brilliant. (And looong) Thing is, if you've read the book you realize that it could never be put on film. Just not possible. If you skipped the book because of the movie, you've missed a great read.
Don't see the problem if they go the apple route and charge twice as much as the product is worth. On the other hand if you go to the microsoft store you'll note that their machines all say "Asus".
Well, IMHO, it's like we're trying to keep up with the Joneses. Only no one noticed we passed the Joneses by decades ago.
We started to lay rail when the rest of the world already had it established. Then some fool came along and invented the automobile. We spent money on roads. Then along came the Wright brothers. We invested in airports.
So now roads lead everywhere. Air travel can take you anywhere. Faster and cheaper than rail. Every major city has an airport. And there are probably dozens of smaller ones in between each larger one. So hi speed rail? If you're wondering why we never had it... we never needed it.
There are good politicians and bad ones. Problem is we have no way of knowing which is which. So the only way to sort it out would be to vote all of them out and start from scratch.
But that opens up another can of worms. If you have a country run by new politicians who have no clue how to govern... we're screwed anyway. So just go out, get plastered, forget your problems. Just whatever you do, don't sober up and you'll be fine.
Have to agree with that. I shunned steam for eons. Downside is have to be on line, it calls home, etc, etc. But then realized that so does google, yahoo, etc. Everybody tracks everything. Welcome to the 21st century.
But on the other hand everything you buy is always there on your machine. No nostalgically remembering that old game and having to dig thru boxes to find it and reinstall it. It's just there.
As far as pricing... last weekend they had a max payne 3 sale. $39. That's a $59 game that's what... a month old? And it came with two other games in a package deal. And they have piles of older $50 games for under 5 bucks. Picked up the Brothers in Arms trilogy (yes, all 3) a month ago for $9.95.
Yes, when a new game is released it's full price. They have no box, no manuals, no dvd. Just the game. But there is no trip to the store. You buy it and you're playing it in just the time it takes to DL it. Are they making a killing on them? I can only assume they get a great deal from the manufacturers so yeah. I'm sure they are. But it's a business that makes money by giving a service. And they do it quite well.
Yeah, I watched some 3D movies back in the 50's on TV. (Yes, I'm olde') I was excited for about 5 minutes.
On the other hand, MIT or someone is playing with a new technology to kind of incorporate 3 LED panels into one giving "true" (?) 3D. No glasses required. But another problem arises. If you have someone sitting way over on the left and someone way over on the right... they may see two different variations on the same scene since it's viewed at different angles.
I find it quite refreshing compared to the vast majority of other crap out there. Maybe I'm old school but I never got the "put everything in the middle and leave the sides blank" shit. It's a page. Use it all.
FWIU, Iraq was a declared war. (Why, is beyond me) In a declared war power is "essentially" stripped from congress and placed in the lap of the sitting president. That's why we have the patriot act and all other kinds of bullshit.
What's free trade got to do with it. That doesn't mean they have to sell everything they own. If that were the case then the "nuclear" countries would be forced to sell the bomb to other non nuclear countries.
Interesting that no one screams "save the trees" "bury the lines". Not to mention the poles are soaked in creosote so that makes them toxic waste.
At any rate, yes it's expensive to bury lines. But I always wondered why they'll dig up a road to put in new sewer lines or gas or whatever, yet no one thinks of burying power lines while it's dug up.
Well if a banned product can't be sold for export, then it can never be sold. Anywhere. Ever. Since no one has any idea if the American is going to travel. Unless of course they can prove they don't have a passport and they can never apply for one. At any rate... seems to me that would be up to customs, not a store.
They just had to create a new "command" with a new word. Pinning. Placing crap on your taskbar is ancient. Pinning it is new. Same thing just different.;)
Where can I order this TV!!!!!!???!?!??!!!
Actually, no he didn't. He compromised for Romney's health care plan. The one that Mittsy wants to repeal.
That would be 184,576.03 times.
Film at 11.

Real catch-22 for the voters.

As history tells us, he didn't steal it (or write it), he bought it. On the other hand I guess with the way it took off you could say he "stole it". :)
Stories like this are probably coming from those who think that Apple created the GUI.
If you have a patent and you're suing for patent infringement... how the hell did they get their patent in the first place?

Well, you could move to canada and get 8mb down 640k up for only $89 a month.
On the other hand, you really don't get close to that for the price.
? Likely depends on your provider. I've been getting all those channels for years in Ontario.

Yeah, but then Jobs died. Patent ran out when he did.

Not to mention they can charge double since broadband was their idea. Along with Al's.
What took you so long? ;)
