There isn't much advice I can give you other then budget your time, make time for school, make sure your employeer knows and is willing to give you that extra time. And just work your butt off, there is no "easy" way to juggle school and work. You are either going to be workng late, or working early (going to school before or after work) or working or going to school all weekend. Depending on how many courses your are taking and your work scheduale you probably won't have any free time. Just work/school/work/school. I doubt this helps, but it is what got me through.
Hey I got a diesel VW car and a diesel generator at my country house, both have been running for YEARS with nothing more then a regular oil change. Diesel engines are built for that crap, to basically run forever with minimal maintance (hence they have no spark plugs and don't need tune ups like crappy gas powered gensets).
I always wanted something like this since I was a little kid and saw people moving into the abandoned Atlas missle silos or people living in caves. In the middle of no where would be cool, I have been living in the city for decades and it is getting old. I wanna get back to nature Green Acres style.
Let me give you a little VB example, say a little VB script to take customer data and run a search, probably going to be at least 1 meg, while the equiv in perl is probably going to be at most 2k. They are going to use about the same in system resources. VB is a resource PIG, perl is no where near the PIG VG is. So if the system gets 1000 users and mister VB proggy requires 1 meg of memory but mister computer only has 512 meg, well you will be swapping something fierce. I agree a lot has to do with the sheer number of users, but take it from someone who works with web computers daily, Windows/IIS/VB/ASP they royally suck they are not really appropriote in the whole web sector (but if you want to belive all your Microsoft propoganda feel free), they are not even remotely effcient. Just go take a look at the size of a simple VB program then write the same thing in perl or C.
When will people learn? Don't get me wrong I am not saying a *nix box can not magically handle more load then it is designed for, but why is it ALWAYS these crappy IIS boxes that have intersting things on them and then get/.'d? Oh well, they will probably just beef up the site with even more Winblows boxes from their friendly Winblows distributer. What is this about? They say they have invented some method of producing electric power without wind/solar/hydro or fuel? It all seems like snake oil to me. Anyone have any insight into this? I just seriously doubt people who make claims like this and then give absolutly NO evidence or even a suggestion of how it is done.
Seems to be nothing other then an electrically powered Delorean? People have been converting gas powered vehicles to Electric for years. If this is some sort of perpetual motion machine is doesn't say how it works on the site, in any detail. So that would lead me to belive it is a hoax.

It covers collectible or used goods auctioing which is automated in a local area. Sounds like it is a U-Scan type system for a small auction house or something at the mall. Not a WWW enabled auctioneer. Gotta love it when people patent things and don't do anything other then sue, isn't America great. Oh well back to work on that "Bubble Sort" Patent of mine.

Or would the reaction be similar to what is going on with the RIAA and "un-copyable" CD's? Has anyone actually proven that making a CD uncopyable will do anything good? Or will someone just figure out how and get put in jail (a la DVD and DeCSS).
I remember seeing this same thing years ago on a replay of a newsreel from the 50's, they had done a whole grocery store like this. I gotta see if I can find it (prior art;)

Does that make the Catholic who gets an abortion guilty of commiting fruad on their census by claiming to be a Catholic even though they don't strictly adhere to doctrine? Or the Mormon who drinks? Or the Druid that eats meat and hunts? etc etc etc. That is why we have freedom of religion in the US, so someones concepts for a religion don't have to apply to mine, then again the government doesn't fund/build churchs here either.

As for fiction in modern religion, other then the fact that Jesus was a person, and was killed, we don't have much other proof to support the stories in the bible. Who knows maybe 2000 years from now people will worship Yoda as a person? I think the point is sure Jedi is a fictional concept, but who knows there isn't much proof that other religions are little more (and don't come back with the "Word of God" stuff, cause that is just bringing dogma into a factual argument).

But I think quite frankly I think one could claim to support the ideals/precepts of being a Jedi (they are close to Buddism, but a little differnt) and could safely defend ones point that ones religion was actually "Jedi". So unless the government could prove you were part of a larger conspiracry it would be a defendable point.

Yes I bothered to read the article and I understand that, but is this money well spent in a developing nation? Or would it be better to spend the money on basic medicines. I simply question the usefulness of a device used in something as mission critical as surgery being dependent on the weather to this extent. Sure it is a developing country, but is it far to open someone up and have to wait till the clouds clear before you can finish the surgery?
I think the obivous issues with clouds and night issues and such will cause some serious issues with the usefulness of this. What surgeon wants a tool that only works 4-6 hours during the day, assuming there aren't any clouds. I don't want my surgery to be schedualed depending on the weather.
I wouldn't entierly agree with that, there have been previous posts of users who have made fighter cockpits with functional switchs and instrumentation, linked to a computer simulator. Guess I would just expect something a little more then a lightup cockpit mockup for 15,000.
