  1. Heat.... on 486 Turns 15 Years Old · · Score: 3, Interesting

I remember when these came out, friends and I joked about how much heat these put off and how they needed heat sinks. The funny part was we were all like, "whats next, having fans attached directly to the CPU, hahahahaaha". ;)

  2. Customer return..... on NetGear Also Has Remote Access Wide Open · · Score: 1

Lets think for a minute here people, this Linksys firewall turned off by default stuff is more then likely a customer return or someones idea of a joke. I haven't seen anyone but this "researcher" report this issue.

  3. Something is wrong...... on Linksys WiFi Gateway Remote Attack Risk Discovered · · Score: 1

Yeah I checked mine, I don't see this problem either. Something smells off about this whole thing anyway. Where is the "official" CERT advisory on this?

  4. Only with free oil.... on Brew Your Own Auto Fuel For 41 Cents A Gallon · · Score: 1

Kicker is it is only 44 cents a gallon if the oil is free (ie waste oil or maybe you grow your own corn or soy beans). Still a great idea, but just wait the Fed will get involved cause this guy isn't paying his per gallon road tax.

  5. Huh? on "A Sound of Thunder" Movie This Summer · · Score: 1

Don't get me wrong, AWESOME story one of my all time favorites. But lets be honest here, it is a SHORT story, and if I remember correctly it is a DAMN short story. So how is this being made into a full length movie we are talking about a maybe 10 page story? Oh well at least the basis is good, should be pretty hard to screw up a classic like this.

  6. Add up your taxes.... on Corporate Work in the US vs. Canada? · · Score: 1

  8. Socialist Country.... on Corporate Work in the US vs. Canada? · · Score: -1, Troll

Just realize you will be paying 50+ percent of your income to the Fed, will have subpar healthcare (but it is universal) and will be lucky to find a decent paying job. With all the weird labor laws in Canada most companies hire contractors rather then actual employees, since it is so difficult to fire and hire people. And be prepared for MORE bueracracy, being a socialist country the Canadians LOVE red tape and most people take there jobs WAAAAYY to seriously. Oh and don't forget the French, those whacky French speaking Canadians make the real French seem practically friendly.

And yes I did actually work in Canada for 6 months made me glad to come back to my job in the states.

  9. Is your logic sound? on Hybrid Cars Don't Live Up to Mileage Claims · · Score: 2, Informative

Huh? Are you doing the same math as the EPA? Yes diesel has more energy per gallon, it is cheaper, if used properly its cleaner and heck its safer too!!! So I will continue gloating.

As for MPG being misleading? Uh if I pay 1 dollar for a gallon of diesel and go farther then a gallon of gasoline, well you do the math cause last time I did I saved money which I can spend on solar panels (but that is something altogether differnt).

  10. Cleaner Diesel.... on Hybrid Cars Don't Live Up to Mileage Claims · · Score: 2, Informative

There is a lot of opposition from all the trucking unions and lobbying from the transport companies over cleaner diesel, since it costs a little more then dirty diesel it would cut into there bottom line. Not sure if we will ever see it.

As for buying a TDI, I would recommend it, I would also recommend you purchase a VAG-COM if you already don't have one. Takes the guess work out of working on your VW.

  11. Volkswagen Golf TDI on Hybrid Cars Don't Live Up to Mileage Claims · · Score: 3, Insightful

I am laughing, cause my TDI (Diesel) actually gets 40-50mpg, is thousands less then a hybrid and diesel is now way cheaper then gasoline.
