man.. I don't understand the fanboy geeks ranting about the all the things wrong in the finale. All Mulder's character was looking for was an answer, "the truth" and thats what he got. No one said that it'd be good or bad.
There was nothing he could have done to change 'the situation' (well, maybe not at least till the next movie if there is one). Carter appealed the finale to a lot of viewers, filling in the holes for the late boomers and tieing everthing for the fans. Sure there were other options. Thing that could've been depicted differently but as it is often said, some things are often best left unsaid. I liked the open ending of the show and the way it ended.
Of course, a lot of people would want to see aliens attack and Mulder coming out with a virus to upload to the mothership and save the day (don't worry, this didn't happen) but you can't please everyone. IMO this is a good ending to an almost perfect show (minus the last 3 seasons or so).
10 Rs in India = a bottle of coke. So its NOT equal to $4 there. You have to take into account the target market there. The teenage younger crowd that owns a PC and an internet connection. The average income of this demographic is higher than the averge income of the country. And as it happens, the Indian population is gradually coming from lower income to middle/higher income class. So it is a good plan for the future. As the article says, if you really like a few songs from a CD and don't want to buy CD, it is well worth downloading a few tracks for 40-50 Rs and be very content with that.
Trademarks are valid as long as the words being trademarks do not become common terms. (eg thermos, yoyo, windsurfer etc). "Spiderman" might gradually become a common term and lose its trademark. Hence, the insistence on using "Spider-Man".
Well, MS in the news again. The God and Devil Show has Bill Gates as their guest and they talk about his new operating system, Windows Eternity. Its a flash cartoon about 4-5 mins. Make sure to send Bill to either heaven or hell. (I suggest send him first to heaven and then to hell). Some might find this offensive so please watch at your own discretion.
husband: "honey, I am working late again tonight." (whilst making suggesting eye contact with his secretary) wife: "ok.... and you want to have phone sex?!?"
Well, Del Toro and David Goyer (writer/producer) want to make a third movie where the premise is what the vampires have actually won and the humans are their food/slave etc. Personally, I'd like this team to come back for a third movie but not sure if I like the plot. But it'll sure as hell give them a chance to take the movie to a new level of gore and violence.
If anyone remembers, and if I can recall correctly, this started with a story they did on Black and White. I loved the piece they did on B&W. It not only told a lot about the game but also about what exactly goes on behind the scenes. The 3D model, the music, the graphics, artwork, debugging and so on.
I think that was by far the most entertaining of all. So much so that after I read the article, the next day I bought the game. First reason was that I wanted to see how B&W played and second was that I wanted to support the developers' hard work. And it was well worth it.
These articles give an in-depth view of the development process so you can relate to it and hopefully come to appreciate the game even better. I hope they keep doing it.
All you have to do is to look at the most popular sites on the web. And they are popular for a reason. Good content, easy user interface, quick navigation etc etc etc.
The best way to do this might very well be the W3C standard described here. Renowned usability guru Jakob Nielsen's site. He has TONS of information on how to design a site effectively. And maybe the most obvious thing to look at is the comaprisons between the top 10 sites on the net including yahoo, msn, google, disney etc (sorry, slashdot is not on the list). It compares the most basic parts of a website (colours, links, navigation bar etc). This gist of it all is, keep is as simple, clean and easy to use as you can possibly make it.
Just because its MS, you guys have to jump on the MS bashing bandwagon. As most of you have said it yourself, we don't quite know how exactly how XBox is going to turn out, so why have so many people already against the console?!?
Oh I get it, since its MS it has to be bad. Maybe this thing can be the next GoldenEye. What if PS2 or GameCube had exclusive license for the Matrix. I can see the drools already.
Relax. Give it a chance. I for one am keeping an open mind to all this. Patience is a virtue my friends.

This is a dark day for the NYPD. As argued by the purists all along, the EelCops have gone loco and have started rampage random shootings. The elderly were shocked when they found these manical cyborg cops were not helping them cross the streets.
The Monkey Swat Team had to be called in to prevent furthur damage. These eel cops could only be subdued by the superior gymnastics of the swat team.
Thank god for these cybernetic monkeys. But wait, who will save us when these monkies go ape ?!?
A concerned journalist.

For those of you who haven't seen it... you can check out very cool storyboards and conceptual art hosted here at the Matrix Website.
And if thats not enough you can get your arses over to the Hack The Matrix website and enter "Darrow" or "Skroce" as the codes to see some more amazing art.
Some of the strips even show Neo in army fatigues that some of you are talking about. The comic Neo character is WAY cooler than Keanu. I am just waiting eagerly for Matrix-II.
Students have been doing it for ages. In every college or university there are a lot of people that work in groups. There are some obvious advantages. Pair up people who are good at different things but can still manage their ass around with the weaker trait.
This way not only will the stuff will get done faster, it'll also help CS students (or others) to communicate with each other and we all know that all of us nerds can use a crash course in comms.
However, in critical environments the pairing has to be done sensibly. Stick two dumbos together and you're sinking with them.
I guess all I'm saying is that, this is a neato idea if used properly. I am all up for it.
Tell me about it. When I first read it I was like, "huh!". but the again, the story came from msnbc. wouldn't surprise me at all if this thing came out as baloney.
This whole thing is just too weird. Either the reporter wrote the story himself or the spammres are just stupid. I mean its obviously a story about spamming and not "hacking". And the thing that made my noggin go off is that the first guy seems to be working alone and doing quite good for himself (so he says). Then why would he taje this stupid risk for 250 bucks. And 11am-11pm ?!?! Those are his working hours. All that and he has a girl friend. Go figure
I just though I'd send this to/. If nothing else it would give people something to bitch about.
Most guys seems to be fixated in pointing the obvious mistake on my part. GSLV is a launcher. Ok, so I made a mistake. Sue me! Instead of talking about the story, lets flame on this. And please moderators, burn all the goddamn "offtopic"ers.
The fact is that India has the ability to build and launch satellites. And in a few years ISRO will give serious competition to US and Russia. and I agree that there is much to do in a "dot-wearing" country of ours. I am sorry to say that some people can't think beyond that.
Grow up and take your heads out of your asses for a change.
The world has changed a lot in the last 10 yrs. Russia, Germany, Internet are examples. And it will keep on changing. Go with it and prosper. Resist it and perish =)
damn right!
If it wasn't for the Canada Arm, the ISS would have splashed in the pacific before MIR did. Hmm..I wonder what would happen if Mike Harris ran the Canadian space program !?!
