    I get shivers how everyone talks about backup strategies but not restore strategies as if the data fairy will wave a wand to restore your backups when it all goes tits up.

    It's always the same - nobody is interested in doing backups, but when things go pear-shaped suddenly everyone is very interested in doing restore...

    I mentioned this when the media was powering up the hysteria machine.

    Many government stockpiles of Tamiflu from the last pandemic that according to the "experts" was dead set going to "wipe us out" (lol) are expiring right now. Many governments were *not* going to restock to previous levels due to the enourmous cost.

    Guess that's changed now huh?

    Not neccessarily - some governments don't buy into all bullshit coming from the drug companies and after careful reviews extend the expiration date on Tamiflu.

    Well, there is one question during IE8 setup whether to use some (listed) default settings or the change those settings - maybe setting it as the default browser is one of those defaults?

    It didn't override Firefox being the default browser in my XP installation, at any rate...

    The public beta will be out May 5th. Paying for MSDN or Technet gets you early access. I wouldn't have a Technet account except my work got it as part of their MS license deal.

    As someone posted somewhere above, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act covers this kind of thing.

    If you brick your system due to failed modification, you're damn right Nintendo can charge you a repair fee. The fee, however, cannot be anymore than they'd normally charge to repair a firmware-dead system.

    So a US federal law relates to a warranty case in Germany exactly how?

    That would really make finding the newly added posts a lot easier...

    Though it's sad that the maintainer of one of AdBlock Plus' block lists (the "EasyList") died he still wasn't the maintainer of AdBlock Plus itself.

    Uh... jump 65k light years away then 65k light years back at a slight angle? That'll get you any distance up to 2*65k ly you want into any distance you want...

    That game was awesome! Turned into TrackMania, I think (or at least that's a very very similar, modernised game).

    While TrackMania is at most a spiritual successor to Stunts everyone really should check out at least TrackMania Nations Forever, the free version that contains just one of the seven environments of TrackMania United Forever... :)

    I'm pretty sure an empty statement (which is a statement, after all, and that's what's supposed to come right after a label) should do the trick:
