It isn't exactly the super glue, it is the cyanoacrylate fumes released from heating the glue. It turns the finger prints white, then they can be photographed.

The reason they don't have a human doing this work, is because it is a dangerous assignment, investigating a suspecious package. Normally the robot would just destroy the package, finger prints and all. Now they can make images of the prints before destroying the package.

I've seen this problem on so many consumer electronics. I've always called the points cold solder joints, but the same thing.

I don't understand why manufacturers continue to attach jacks to the main boards with just solder. There is no way around it, they will crack. It could be after a year or so, or as these owners have found, just over a month. If they'd just put a bit of epoxy under the jack, so that is what actually holds it to the board, and the solder is there to conduct the electricity, like it was designed to, the problem would be solved.

As a matter of fact, that is how I usually solve the problem on my devices that break. When I'd just touch up the solder joints the problem would always return. But after I took to totally desolding the jack, adding a little epoxy under it, then resolding, they don't break again.

I think the term adds too much credibility to SCO's statements.

Reverse DNS, when you look up an IP and get its PTR name. Like 127.0.0.1 gives localhost on most machines.

It is important that your mail server has a reverse lookup that resolves to a name where a postmaster can be contacted. It is also a very good idea, to have that name also forward resolve to the same IP (even if other names also resolve to that same IP).

As for the pop corn detection. Newer microwaves have vapor sensors. They are programmed to know how much vapor various foods should be giving off when then are done cooking. If I open the door on mine while using the sensor cook feature, it will give an error (the vapor is released), then estimate the amount of time left, and revert to timed cooking.
