    I'll second this, I don't want to be carrying a phone, plus a mmedia device, plus an organizer. So I could fall for this one, but I'll examine carefully the data transfer issues (it needs to be evolution friendly)

    You've got a point, the good thing however is that the last time I installed Firefox on a friends computer, I could simply say "This is the new Internet Explorer", and everything was fine with it.

    Then you're living near the border. It takes at least 10 hours by bus from Kathmandu (the capital) to reach the Indian border. And I'm not talking about Sherpa or Gurung villages in the mountains.

    You need to figure out which part of the brain actually does the moving
    In fact, some experiments (sciam ?) have shown that monkeys where able to guide a robotic arm with their brain.
    They did not target a specific area, actually the monkeys learned to use their brain in that way, with that plug.

    Interesting i don't have this code with Mozilla, but I do have it with IE... (I use Mozilla as primary browser so I first thought the code simply wasn't there.)
    Are mozilla users not representative enough for page ranking?

    the fact that the exploit only works for IE5 doesn't mean that the same hole doesn't exist in IE6.
    For this kind of exploit, a different compile option or whatever can make it fail.

    I understand. I just wanted to point out *what* was actually discussed in the lkml. Point that my parent post seemed to have missed. As IANAL, I think we need a ruling to know exactly what a *judge* would define as a boundary...

    I think you've missed the point, the problem is to define what does "based upon" means.
    When you compile a binary, you have to compile with some header files which are GPLed. So you are "based upon" GPL code right?
    IIRC Linus argued that this wasn't sufficient. He stated that for a module needed to be written with Linux in mind (ie targeted at it), accessing particular data structures, then it would have to be GPLed.

    Well maybe in the developed markets where people are using windows since last 10 years and are used to it. But in nascent markets it maynot be the case.
    In those so-called nascent markets, you can find any copy of any pirated software, so everyone having a computer can purchase the newest software and use it.
    Even these markets are full of windows users, don't even think about a heaven of Linux awaiting geeks.
