shrug. hitler was a religious guy who believed in jesus. that doesn't mean i'd argue that his attempt to take over europe and institute a third reich based on his personal ideals was him 'killing everyone in the name of christianity'. same goes for stalin. religion or the lack thereof was not at the top of the totem pole when it came to these dudes' motivations.
not listening to input from people that aren't part of your circle of 'true believers' isn't dictatorship. hell, that describes the bush administration.
Is there enough evidence to --for all practical purposes-- bankrupt countries trying to "limit the damage"? That question is the hot plate issue.
that's a bit of a false choice. it isn't 'do nothing' or 'go bankrupt'. i haven't seen any evidence that regular, pragmatic changes being proffered would bankrupt anybody.
i'd agree, but being from the country that shut down the SSC halfway through building, i can't talk. we probably would have already found the higgs by now.

well, you gotta remember these are long-ass bus trips we're talking about. more than an hour each way. conversation with the kid next to you only goes so far, and i'm sure at least some of the kids appreciate the chance to work on some homework.
given the immense popularity of the iphone and the itouch, i'd say yeah, in this segment of the market it's a very effective strategy.
apparently, most phone/MP3/netbook users aren't interested in an open device they can do whatever they want with. they want something they can surf the web with and listen to music and run some cool apps.
what? you mean most people who buy ipods really just want a solid MP3 player with an elegant interface, and maybe some extra applications? pfft.
come on, man. you know most consumers secretly want an open platform device they can code for. just the other day my grandmother was decrying that she can't run linux on her nano.
pretty much everything we eat has some form or another of corn in it. either corn syrup or some food chemical extracted from corn.
in a country that takes food seriously i'd agree, then again in a country that takes food seriously we would never have gotten to this point. but in america at least 'people would stop eating corn products' is about as unrealistic as saying people would stop watching TV.
yes and no. in a free market system we'd still end up seeing GMO crops. maybe not corn due to subsidies, but others such as wheat instead. a free market does not stop the creation of large-scale agriculture or monocultures.
to me the question is a bit misplaced. this stuff is a symptom of technological progress which would happen irrespective of the system.
but congress does not disregard it. they might have the power, but this is the real world.
and in the real world the executive branch has power over the budget. they write it, they submit it, it gets passed.
so yes, the president has an effect on the deficit. balanced budgets aren't all the doing of congress when the president's office writes the damn budget.
foia requests aren't so simple that you can point out a link with everything you have. at least in america they aren't. you are asked to search your data, files, emails, physical papers and notes, everything for specific terms. it really does take a while to get everything together.
with regard to conviction "why" is very important. "why" is what separates murder from manslaughter. "why" is what separates murder from self-defense.
as to psychopathy, a great number of inmates are psychopaths. its well-assumed in psychology that APD correlates with higher rates of criminal behaviour. APD, however, does not rise to the level of removing culpability in criminal acts. having APD doesn't make you 'criminally insane' that you're able to get away with murder.
that's idiotic. a great number of mental disorders have a genetic basis or predilection. this is well-known.
however, as far as i know there are no disorders or behaviours that are based on race or ethnicity. some ethnic groups or races have higher rates of certain disorders, but this fact isn't taboo. it too is quite well-known.
i'm sorry dogg but if you have a phD in bio or chem and you can't even tell your computer is completely missing you need to pack it in and find something else to do.
uh, hitler wasn't an atheist. seriously.

well, then the GP *must* be wrong, because some guy on the internet says he was there. thus, all argument on the subject must stop.

oh noes, rappers! they're totally out to oppress the GOP!
exactly. cause if anything says 'working class hero' its a drug addict who gets paid 30 million a year to talk into a microphone.
plenty of chicks dig the old vespas. roll up in a mid-60's model sometime.

that and they showed bart's ding-a-ling in the beginning of the movie. oh crap, now i haveta go burn the DVD before the cops show up.
as it turns out, these dudes have egg allergies so being proved wrong is causing more symptoms.

the president submits the budget to congress, not the other way around.

Obama just wanted it there because he lived there once
"lived there once"? what the hell does that mean? outside of 4 years at harvard he lived in chicago from 1985 until he became president.
