  1. And Trudeau is a whiny and inadequate leader who is a threat to all of Canadian society because of his inability to make proper decisions or lead the country in any positive direction so I guess we're even then.

  2. about time on Xbox One To Gain Mouse and Keyboard Support Next Week (polygon.com) · · Score: 1

I would literally rather turn around and aim a gun in an FPS game using a mouse and just my ass cheeks than use a joystick. Pseudo-absolute positioning vs fully relative positioning? How is that efficient?! What kind of sick person would even considering it acceptable? Now if only they'd get rid of the whole pay monthly to play online with games you already bought even though you already have an internet connection that you pay for thing...which they won't, so buy a PC.

  3. Literally anything could compete with Tesla right now. Their incredibly important invention is an overpriced, un-repairable, and their company is based on lies to get more investor money. Don't even get me started on the hyperloop aka the disastrous crash generator. You could put an upgraded battery pack in a Barbie jeep for kids and compete with Tesla. Once a company that isn't all flash and no substance mixed with rip-off prices takes electric cars seriously and can price them appropriately and build them economically, it's all over for those douchebags at Tesla.

  4. completely inaccurate fact on Principal Fired For Using School's Computer Room To Mine Cryptocurrency (bbc.com) · · Score: 1

There's one giant mistake. I'm fairly certain that Ethereum miners use like 1kbps tops to operate. I know DAG files are created but I don't think they're that bandwidth heavy. There is no way that they "interfered with teaching" from network congestion. That is simply impossible.

  5. Here's my question on Google Says Adding Dark Mode To Apps Saves Battery (betanews.com) · · Score: 2

Aren't normal screens backlit by an LED array and they're on constantly and black pixels just blocks and absorb or reflect the light? So making an app all black would simply make your phone warmer and the only solution is dimming it?

  6. Re:this is all completely pointless on The Year OnePlus Started Ignoring Fans (venturebeat.com) · · Score: 1

  7. this is all completely pointless on The Year OnePlus Started Ignoring Fans (venturebeat.com) · · Score: 2

Who cares what they do? Who in their right mind would buy a Huawei or OnePlus or any other Chinese-made phone when A LOT of products from China spy on you, have backdoors, steal your logins, etc? I don't care what they do to the hardware and software, I'm not buying a compromised device regardless and neither is anyone else with a brain.

Smelling basically any delicious food makes me happier. I don't think this is the greatest discovery of all time. People have known that scents can affect mental states for centuries.

  12. I can't wait until he goes after Apple for their monopoly abuse, garbage quality standards, illegal labor practices, and price fixing. Oh wait...

  13. I have an idea on Uber Planning Fleet of Food Delivery Drones 'As Soon As 2021' (engadget.com) · · Score: 1

They should equip it with one of those baseball style compressed CO2 cannons that can shoot hot dogs. Then they could launch dogs, brats, maybe taquitos directly into my mouth. If they up the PSI it might be able to shoot through a window even and save me some time.

  14. Fun fact: if you look at the last 10 years of slashdot stories about miracle efficiency improvements, they're now around 570% efficient.

  15. It's worse than this - one contacted me on eBay Files Lawsuit Against Amazon Over 'Seller Recruitment' (bbc.com) · · Score: 2

I had someone from amazon buy something from my ebay store specifically to get my phone number from my paypal account then he called me on the phone to try to recruit me to sell on Amazon. Talk about creepy and going way too far. Amazon is the worst monopoly abuser, especially with their recent Prime nonsense, in the history of the world.

  16. Put all this time and effort into validity checking all events that happen in multiplayer and banning accordingly. Someone can't gain more than X money in 5 minutes, can't take X amount of shots from a gun without dying, can't be off the ground outside a vehicle for more than X seconds etc. Put in these basic cheat checks for a little CPU overhead or even review the data server-side and data, no more cheaters.

  17. Using photoshop without a mouse sounds like the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Oh wait, no, running it on a processor that's in an iPad is the stupidest thing, not to mention the RAM.

  18. And that makes the MS service pack-sized patches work better? Lol jk.

  19. I have an idea on Microsoft Rereleases Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Fixes Data Deletion Bug (theverge.com) · · Score: 4, Insightful

Now they should fix the problem where it can't rewrite the non-standard OEM BCD/boot loader partitions because there's not enough room because they were forced into the free upgrade from 7 and there's a 400MB different, minimum, and that doesn't work. Then it rolls back and tries it again because it's too stupid to have checked it in the first place or know why it's failing. Oh and I have another idea. Tell HP and Dell and Lenovo and literally every single OEM to STOP DOING CUSTOM BOOT LOADERS WITH LIKE 9 PARTITIONS!!!!!!

  20. As an Uber driver let me just add that you can to catch mad amounts of pokemon in Pokemon Go while waiting for a ride so there's that.

  21. The solution on 100 Years Ago, Influenza Killed 50 Million People. Could It Happen Again? (usatoday.com) · · Score: 5, Interesting

There's a very, VERY sensitive tipping point when it comes to infections spreading or not. It's very close math. You know what countries have very few problems with flu outbreaks? The ones where it's illegal to go to work with the flu.

  22. Some of these apps shared something, likely the microsoft installer service, with Windows Update so if you manually started running updates too soon it'd crash the install of the apps and hang windows updates and upon reboot you wouldn't be able to open the start menu. You'd click it and nothing would happen. They allegedly fixed this but all they really did was make it less prevalent.

  23. Unless those clear vehicles are going to automatically run over and kill cows, they're ignoring the ACTUAL source of greenhouse gas emissions. Efficient vehicles are a lie. In fact I even heard a rumor that all the freighters carrying cargo on the ocean make like 10x more CO2 than all the cars in the US combined. Methane is several hundred times more damaging and it comes from cows, of which there are way the hell too many of. THAT is the problem. Make methane capture laws.

  24. I just convinced myself to have absolute confidence and rehearsed in my head then volunteered to go first for the speech project so I'd do a perfect job and make everyone else twice as nervous by setting the bar that high. It worked and everyone was pissed.

  25. I run a channel with 16.5 million views, 37k subs, and 1450 videos and it's been up for about 3 years. These whiners are entitled milennial assholes who only care about what people think of them on top of never having worked a day in their life. They're depressed that 95% of their fans loving them and 5% constantly bashing them leaves them feeling empty and "stressed out." They're shallow and impossibly lazy and picked the wrong career path. I'm not "burned out" and I work a full time job on top of making around 1.5 videos per day for my channel.
