I think if you look into treaties to limit arms, etc, you will find that they are worthless. They are merely politcal fodder for politicians to hold up for an unsuspecting public.
The "suit color" issue seems to go back to the 1960 presidential election. The people who listened to the presidential debate on radio resoundingly felt that Nixon won it. The people who watched it on tv felt that Kennedy won it.
What are you smoking?? Do you remember what led up to the 1994 election that caused the Democrats to lose the House and the Senate??
The US government was designed to have Checks and Balances in place to ensure that abuse of power would not happen. The whole Checks and Balances system is now a joke.
As long as the central government maintains it strength, freedoms will be eroded away... It doesn't matter if it is Republicans or Democrats in power...
True, but remember that the concept of trickle-down economics was invented in the Reagan
2 points to make:
-Trickle down economics is just a rewording of Adam Smith.
-The point wasn't referring to government spending, but to the tax cuts.
In case you missed your history classes, the US "Founding Fathers" didn't trust government. In fact, they felt that government was not trustworthy. That is why there was the attempt to put all the checks and balances in place.
Knowledge of these bugs would allow worms/viruses to utterly cripple Microsoft based corporate networks.
I would opine that Microsoft based corporate networks are already crippled.:)
The last time I updated a driver on a Compaq, I used the floppy. I am not sure if this is still standard at Compaq, but a few months ago the updated drivers would only copy onto floppies, and then could be installed from the floppy.
The spamassassin program is called from procmail. There are two ways to use it. One is a simple perl script that is invoked each time you receive mail. For sites that receive a large amount of mail, there is a daemon and client program.
Spamassassin gives each spam quality in an email a score. For instance, if the body of the message claims auto email removal, it gives the message a score of 1.750 plus anything else it finds. You can find all the scores at http://www.spamassassin.org/tests.html
Each user of spamassassin has a user_pref file where you can change the score required for an email to be considered spam. You can also blacklist or whitelist sites in the file.
All of the program is written in perl (except for spamc which is in C), so if you know a little perl you can get a more detailed explanation of it.:)
Those pipes that are already there cost money. A lot of money. The isp I work for was recently looking for another DS3. The best price we could find for a 45mb pipe was $200 per megabit.
The book by Alan Dean Foster is titled "Splinter of the Mind's Eye." If you can't find it at your local used bookstore, there are currently 18 copies for sale on ebay.
You can follow the money the other way also. A lot of the "pro global warming" scientists are getting money for their grants based on green special interests.
It's better safe than sorry? What if we find out down the line that what we changed to was actually worse for the environment than what we changed from? IE it is more polluting to make the electricity for the electric cars than what petrol based automobiles put out?
One of my favorites from my teenage years was the plastic bags at the super market. At first it was environmentally friendly to use these because they saved trees.... Then a few years later it was environmentally unfriendly because they don't degrade in landfills... I am not against the environment at all, it just seems that most environmentalists are a bit kooky....
I agree that MS cares about its products. Maybe some of the guys that write code don't care as much as they should, but MS as a whole cares a lot about it.
What was the last big product launch that they had?
98? 95? ME was a flop; 2k was pretty much the same, and I don't exactly see people clamoring for XP. In fact, some of the computer talk shows on the radio in California that are "pro" MS are saying to stay with Win 98. That has to hurt.
Then you have insurance agencies that what to charge more for insurance if you run a MS server.
In short, if there isn't quite a few people popping rolaids at MS I would be utterly shocked.
"I am Pardeux, the holy man."
Cool page with some video and sound files from Mazes and Monsters: http://www.spookylibrarians.com/mazes.html
I am sure glad the founders of this country were paranoid schizophrenics... :)

How in the world did this get modded as funny?
If it was anything but a religous post, there would be an outcry about it....
sed and grep??? :) or cut? or...?
Haven't you ever heard of awk??

When did the Boy Scouts of America begin generating statistics about software piracy???
They obviously do not need these spam because they are already the biggest penises on the net.

Maybe it is a publicity stunt for Dreamcatcher, which is being made into a movie...
Is it just me, or is it a touch ironic that they won't accept this because of exportation problems?

How did the parent get modded insightful? This should be modded ignorant. This has nothing to do with racism.

How many governments (aside from the communists) did not have government as a driving force?

Belo is the company that had the web savy to give $37 million to fund the cuecat.
Apparently they have money to burn....
Here in Southern California, I have only seen MCSE or the A+ certs asked for in job postings.
Has anyone seen a job ad asking for a ccna/ccnp/ccie?

The parent company of the one that I work for invested heavily in the cuecat.
Our wages are froze this year... oh well.
