I know you can hotsync the palm to a computer IR port but I have no idea if you can use the hotsync connection as a modem. I think I remember reading you could once but don't remember.
What about palm for smartphones? As a longtime user of the Kyocera 6035 who recently upgraded to a Treo 600 I've fallen in love with the palm-based smart phones. I've looked at some windows ones and they just have *too* much functionality so that it all gets confused and horribly complicated. I haven't looked much at Symbian based ones but they didn't seem to have as many features and certainly not the broad application base either Palm or Windows have. As far as Linux are there any smartphones out there based on it?
What I don't understand is why Microsoft didn't do this from the beginning. They send a legal threat and find out they're dealing with some kid. Instead of turning around to sue the hell out of the kid if they had just offered this from the beginning there would never have been any story and this would be a complete non-issue.
I highly doubt that he is the "sole source" for all DVD screeners. It simply wouldn't make sense considering how many groups there are out there releasing them in competition with each other and with different versions. If there was one source there would be one group always getting the first release for every movie, which just isn't the case. My best guess was that he was OBUS's source. They're the only group that released all of the movies listed in the article and while they are a major group, they're far from the largest or most well known.
You are sort of correct. It's actually that when it's not in cache the pipeline gets *lenghtened*. From this post over at Ace's:
P4 Willamette and Northwood have a 20 stage pipeline when seen from the trace cache. However, including the decode path which stores its results in the trace cache, the pipeline is 28 stages.
because we know that SPEC and stuff like 3dmark is the reason we buy computers. If fact, that's all I ever use my computer for, to make myself feel good about having the fastest one.
For those into the technical side of this type of stuff and heck of a lot higher S/N ration, check out the Ace's Hardwareforum. There's a large thread going on overthere taking about the rumors and what it would actually mean.
and also hasn't (really, they've been working on the next version but nothing's really come out) been updated for months. And is quite buggy. And franky just doesn't download as fast as most other clients. That said I use it all the time because it's nice to run in the background getting rare stuff.
I just got myself a Treo 600 for Christmas and I think it balances pretty well. True it is a Palm first with a phone built into it, but it works. One of the palm applications buttons is a phone button. Once on the phone screen you can make a call either by using the direction-pad thing to scroll to a contact / favorites list or by dialing on the keyboard. True it has a built-in camera, but I'll probably end up ignoring it. The battery life's great from what I've found so far (couple of days easily). The only downside to it is the keyboard buttons are a little small untill you get used to them.
Quick google found this review that includes nice pictures.
4.1: Front Left, Right; Mid Left, Right 5.1: Front Left, Right, Center; Mid Left, Right 6.1: Front Left, Right, Center; Mid Left, Right; Back Center 7.1: Front Left, Right, Center; Mid Left, Right; Back Left, Right
I always thought the mids ended up being farther back than shown in the picture though.
Didn't Germany basically put a restraining order on SCO saying they can't say ANYTHING about this without real proof, let alone threaten to sue people?
Colocation is not the problem, wikipedia is run buy a guy who owns an ISP and he hosts it at his own ISP. The problem is they don't have enough hardware to handle the load. They have all the bandwith and space they could want.
... or we delete this big lump of information that you thought you were entering somewhere permanent.
Where on earth did you get this troll? I see someone saying: "hey, we've had some problems because we're so big. I'm throwing a new machine in there and if you like it donate so we can add some more." If there are no donations than the site just goes on as it has, IE being down every once in a while.
umm, or you could just find a pile of used CueCats people like me still have lying around from when Radio Shack was giving them away for free. No it's not quite as nice, but a $100 bill is quite nice in comparison.
If you want an other freedb interface I wrote a simple command line perl script that is insanely configurable. You give it a directory of a full album, it looks up the freedb info and renames it in a whatever way your particular fetish is.
How long before these virtual models are available on porn sites for...people other than lonely geeks like myself...to dress / undress.

As far as analog, I have no clue.

I think you are confusing balding 40-year old men who pretend to be teenage girls online with actual women.
Or maybe I'm confusing AOL chat rooms with friendster.

am I the only one wondering what the hell I just watched!?
Ask DVDR/VCDhelp.com, they probably know far more. Also look through their Capture Card list which includes a checkbox if it works under linux.
