What do we expect them to do? They are a small company. If they win the lawsuit they would break even or make a few bucks. If they lose it will be hundreds of thousands and they go out of business. Even if they win a huge settlement, they don't see a dime until the suit is won, the years and years it takes them to win in court leaves them deeply in the red.

We should be more outraged that large companies can effectively strong arm small businesses or individuals out of attempting to raise a suit like this.

I recall running into this because I was ticked off that I had typed the thing in in lower case first. However it was certainly not any software in the last 10 years, and I doubt I have typed more then a handful of license keys in the last 5. (online software distribution ftw)

Also I seem to recall many capchas are case sensitive. I usually type matched case on those just to be sure. When they hit you with a long string of caps, I use caps-lock. Aside from that, it is occasionally handy for certain work, but only slightly. I would be quite happy with a software-only caps-lock solution. (though from the story it does not seem like this is going to be an option)

I once worked at a non-profit that has a generous off time, allowed to hold a certain number of total days (based on seniority, but generous), and they pay for untaken off time, even when an employee leaves the company. I got paid 2 full weeks of untaken time when I left.
