I get enough power to recharge my phone, and my iPod, and my wireless headset, and run a little desk light, and my PDA...
crippled? Uh, OK. Seems to be working fine for me. Is it a perfect solution? Absolutely not. Beats the hell out of ten different wall warts to schlep around.
"The search for belonging, approval, acceptance... that's a basic human impulse."
There are people whose approval and acceptance are important to me. Maybe ten or so. I'm marrying one of them next month. The rest of you are welcome to your opinion, because it's irrelevant to me.
I think that people who get their identity from outside affirmation are unhealthy people.
"But who needs things that remind us of who we really are, as opposed to how we want others to see us"
I just don't understand the mindset where those two things are drastically different. Sure, there are things about myself that I keep private, but I've never been overly concerned about others' opinions.
And I don't give a quarter shit what people do or do not give a half-shit about. Popularity is not a determinant of quality, nor of suitability to my needs.
For argument's sake, why are you drawing a distinction between sports and violence? There are a number of sports that are a bit more violent than even the Most Violent Thing Ever, which is a video game.
Yeah, because that was very clear from the spec sheet and J Allard's interview. Not.
You're pre-supposing that Microsoft is not going to bone their existing partners and customers. I'm trying to understand why on Earth you think that the leopard has changed its spots.
OK, so because you're ignorant, we should go buy all different measuring tools? Look, I like the metric system too, but it's not my fault that you're not familiar with the jargon.
CFM is the basic standard measurement in air handling in the United States, which you might have noticed is a fairly large industrialized nation. It's OK if you don't know that, but try not to be a jerk about it.
I guess it all depends on what you're used to. Austin is far more progressive/liberal/tolerant (pick your adjective) than the rest of the state. It's a really cool town, except for the unusually high density of politicians.
OK, Tom? We know you don't like Macintoshes. Understood. You can go back under your bridge now.

Yup. I've got an adapter that converts down to USB. Very handy indeed.
"but is it the best place to get it?"
Until somebody comes out with a standard DC power connector, the answer to your question is "yes".
You figure out how to get to the moon with a balloon, and I'll buy you a cool new phone.
Ummm...your prejudices are showing.
"There is no other time or place in your whole life that will let you be yourself again, so grab it while you can."
Wow. I am so glad my life is not like that.

You let your children OUTSIDE!? There's CHILD MOLESTERS out there!
"We have enough busy things in this world"
Who's we? Got a mouse in your pocket?
But you can't put a sound card in a Mac, so they suck!
(that bulge? That's my tongue. In my cheek. Above my Powerbook.)
"Stop spreading misinformation."
Good luck with that. This guy uses his anti-Mac jones to pound railroad spikes through 2x4's.
"Most people don't give a half-shit."

"the Macintosh lost its mystique"
I don't give a crap about mystique. It works better.
"why would you pay a premium for Mac hardware"
Because it's very well designed, and comes with a state-of-the-art OS. Any other dumb questions?
You get points for results, not for trying hard. At least, that's been the way it's been since I got out of elementary school.
For argument's sake, why are you drawing a distinction between sports and violence? There are a number of sports that are a bit more violent than even the Most Violent Thing Ever, which is a video game.
WORD. What you said. Units matter.
Yeah, because that was very clear from the spec sheet and J Allard's interview. Not.

"on all sides"
Hell, I'd settle for any rational thinking at all.
So she's disavowing a trial balloon. What does that have to do with anything? You think these crooks actually want a fair, timely election?
I guess it all depends on what you're used to. Austin is far more progressive/liberal/tolerant (pick your adjective) than the rest of the state. It's a really cool town, except for the unusually high density of politicians.
Spoken like somebody who's never been to Austin.
I guess it depends on how "classic" you need to be. The wiimote copies the layout of the original Nintendo controller pretty well.
Time will tell. I'm definitely curious to fool with one. It's the only new console I'm even remotely interested in.
(hah! The pun!)
