    Again,

That being said, RAID helps to overcome failure of the drive. Do yearly or bi-yearly DVD backups, or back up to another offline harddrive... etc..

I wouldn't trade that experience for the WORLD. Now, I can understand how you may think that your view of a lifestyle would have been more fun for me, but I have to tell you - I truly don't see it that way. I'd have to say there are probably people in similar situations who would reflect and say the same.

Sorry about the rant. Your thoughts just pushed a button...

I think we're both fair here.

You stated a "friend works for a drug company" and "She said exactly what I (you) just said", in addition to somewhat meaningless (due to heresay) statistics.

I stated I do work for one of the large drug companies. And that you're wrong.

See? Both of us are right!

Everyone has an opinion, so here's mine.

What I'd like is a hard drive player that just accepts files. I don't want a management interface. I have a small CF (nex 2e) mp3 player that is fairly decent, and the golden thing about this player is that I can take a CF card (and reader) anywhere and load it up.

Now, that being said, for the way I use my music, my nomad zen xtra has been awesome. But again, that is how I see myself using an mp3 player. My wife? Got her a nano for christmas.

But she's also the person who didn't want an mp3 player in her car... opted for the 400$ cd-only panasonic that "looked pretty"..... She regrets that now..

I have Our Lady Peace's new disc, Healthy in Paranoid Times.

On insertion (simulated here via the AUTORUN.EXE, since my autorun is off) the CD displays an "Enhanced CD Installer" window, which has the title and artist of the cd. "End User License Agreement" is off to the right.

In the center is the familiar legalese of the EULA - stating "IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY:" Off to the bottom is an "Agree/Disagree" radio button, which if you select Disagree (agree is defaulted, BTW - without any scrolling in the main EULA part) the CD automatically ejects to protect itself.

But it will not install any software if you select Disagree. Given, I am only able to test on this specific CD, so I can't really state with full authority that your mother clicked on "Next" without moving the radio button, but in my case you'd have to hit something to install this rootkit.

p.s. You can also rip away with EAC while the agreement is being displayed, if you don't want to turn off Autorun. My thoughts are to just turn off Autorun, however... It is handy in certain cases, but I'm not a typical user I guess.
