Actually, from what I've seen on the Our Lady Peace CD is that you "DECLINE" their EULA and the OS spits out the disc.
Wow, that's hard to get around.
Once you turn off "Autorun", it's just another quick step with EAC to do a rip and convert to any format you want... I had thought of using my laptop to actually install their DRM to see what kind of crappy quality they had the tracks at, but I'm glad I didn't do that after reading yesterday's article.
Anyways, I'm sure the "other" OS I run isn't affected by this attempt to put shit on my computer that I really don't need....
Depending on where you're at, 270's not all that bad.
I've lived in Columbus for the past 12 years, and traffic here is never as bad as some other "big" cities. Of course, still doesn't help me from cursing when there's a traffic jam on 270 for 15 minutes.
My point is that I paid for the luxury of seeing a "feature presentation"... I can have a little bit of understanding for maybe an FBI warning, but I really don't need an over-the-top performance from a grip stating that pirating a film = money loss, when (as you stated) this isn't necessarily true.
Wow. That just got way too serious. Anyways, it was a joke, to a point. The wife and I enjoyed a showing of "Saw 2" on Friday, and I didn't see the commercial (and remarked to my wife that it was absent) so maybe they've pulled them?
So, if we pirate the video, you're not going to automatically go hungry and not be able to support your family?
You've already been paid?
*note - this post was directed at the movie previews that ask for people not to "steal" movies. Which are played (or were? haven't seen one in a while) in theaters before the feature presentation.
Of course, the presence of 3D hardware can make a 2D game even better. Certainly nothing wrong with using modern 3D hardware to make 2D animation smooth and dynamic, to make objects shake/move/wobble/topple realistically, and so on. Stuff that old-school 2D hardware would have struggled with, or would have had to be done by the CPU.
It's statements like this that make me very glad that Konami realized a part of this, and released Gradius 5 for the PS2. This is a truly visually stunning game, in my opinion, and it keeps up with the fun/difficulty of the entire series.
Every enemy appears to be a full 3d rendered object, not just a static sprite - and it definitely gives the world a fresh feel, while retaining that "bullets everywhere" feeling when playing. Even the first level boss explodes from a time warp onto the screen and rotates 90 degrees to allow the fight to begin... just sweetness all abound.
I sincerely hope Konami has plans to do more of this in the future, as it does appeal to the old school gamer in me.
Looks like your video card is the culprit there. Maybe your system ram too, probably to a lesser extent.
I've got a xp2800+, 1024MB ram and a 6600gt 128mb. 22% rank higher than mine.

Do you honestly think that someone who HAD murdered their wife would just say "Yea, it was me, my bad..."?
That's why they look at you like you're nuts when you're telling them to get the f out of your house. Until they can see that no one is in danger in the house, you ARE 2 inches away from being a suspect, in their eyes. They need to do that, and if you don't understand why, then 20 slashdotters trying to tell you why is not going to sway your mind. Including me.

They can also "triangulate" you when they call your cell phone as well, assuming that you leave the cell phone on.:)
My clan on UT2k4 had a clan member get nailed for changing his name on a server he was playing on.
Picture this. You're on a DeathMatch server, totally owning (not to mention, anti cheats are enabled) because all of the other players aren't as skilled. So, my buddy changed his name to {rto}leet_aimbot.
Atari actually pulled his CD key over this. He had to fight with them to get the key re-instated so he could play online. In addition, they warned him to not use this name ever again, or any combination of aimbot. No real reason given, and it's not like you couldn't tell he'd been a member of the community for a long time.....
Oh well. Sometimes, even if you pay, you gotta play by their rules if it's their server. It's unfortunate in Taco's events that it took them so long to "make up a rule"....
320x320? Come on, you can do better than that in SVideo.
Grab yourself a PVR-150 (or go all out with a PVR-500, like I did) - your processor will thank you for it. You'll get a standard MPEG-2 stream, hardware encoded.
And every now and again you'll find them on sale. I saw the 500's going for under 150$ last week.
Oh yea, I didn't mention - the 500's have 2 tuners and 2 MPEG-2 encoders on board. Thinking of getting another one for my SageTV setup....
I work for a rather large company, and when Wal-Mart came in and said "YOU WILL USE THIS RFID, TO OUR SPECS" our fearless leaders said "Anything you want."
Now, for our overall industry of the company I work for, Wal-Mart could take a flying nose dive. But, for our division? It would be suicide to not have our product out there.
So we installed their system. To their specifications.
that'll teahc me not to preview)
Yea, that'll teahc ya!
Maybe the hackers would be better able to understand women if they could get that nasty PMS outta the way.

All you have to do is marry said girlfriend. Then you'll hear all about your "shortcomings." Not just in the sack, mind you.

Guys taking pictures of guys?
Obviously, you're not familiar with the word "homosexual".
I have a close friend who is gay, and he likes to send me some weird stuff, just to get my reaction. One was a cameraphone pic of someone's junk. Ew.

Alright, who's the wise guy who put a chair in Steve's new office?
Cartridges don't just "go bad".
Either your unit and/or cart needed cleaned, or you should stay off the carpet, sparky.

No kidding.

What you're trying to say here is....
Once you go Mac, you never go back?
I know it's corny. It feels like Monday.
No kidding.

Lots of castles that failed are now little more than tourist sites and the subject of postcard photos.
Plus, I've heard it on good sources that there are a bunch of castles that sank into a swamp.
I knew I'd seen this reported elsewhere.
It's no wonder that the rest of the world hates the US at times. Or perhaps, all the time...?
*whoosh!*
Geeesh.
Stop being so Overly Critical, Guy!
And you even had the smiley face too.
