    I haven't tried the new one, but that sounds excellent! I agree though, it would be hard to find. Perhaps the top of it should glow or pulse or something along those lines to make sure the user is paying attention. Sounds kinda wanky and OSXish I know, but it'd work.

    I am a web developer (J2EE). IE is the most 'forgiving' browser out there. In fact, the more I can avoid the likes of netscape, the better.

    All the more reason to use firefox. Forgiving browsers are why there's so many broken sites out there.

    Ah, I thought it was supposed to spread it out, so what you saw outside kinda came throught the other side for longer, not that it just delayed it.

    But if it's just like regular gass but super light-resistant, wouldn't it then become a mirror as the coefficient of refraction went towards 1 or 0 (high school physics is kinda hazy)

    Hey, what about some kind of sled with a seat on it, that has a really long run up (so you don't get too pwn3d), and that at the end ejects you out somewhat above terminal velocity? How high up will you get? What about doing it over a cliff?

    I was stating that the fact that the average american donates more money than the average citizen of any other country suggests that we are inherently not bullies. It has been this way since the 50's and continues to be the trend.

    I'd like to see some references for this, and I'd also like to know wether it's the amount an average person donates, as oppposed to the average amount donated per person... Having most of the worlds richest people and companies must definitely skew the former.

    What a load of crap. In Darwin, a city where cyclones (hurricanes that spin the other way for all you yankees) are a real threat, and most queenslander-style houses have an above-ground, storm proof room on the bottom level. They're just built with fuckoff-big bricks or cinder-blocks.

    Yes, if it's legal here, of course. I'd expect to be able to fork a closed source linux. And the US is free to rule that it's illegal for americans on US soil to posess a copy of my perfectly legal (in the afformentioned pseudo australia) software.

    What's better? That any law paid for by US corporate interests should be enforceable through extradition? You think it's ok if the RIAA extradites some brit / aussie / canuck to the US for copying Led Zepplin II?

    Personally, I find it much better that GPL'd or otherwise code can be stolen and reused than any law that any corrupt politician / company / special interest group can get passed anywhere in the world can be enforceable anywhere else...

    Or do you think that it's only US laws that should be enforced everywhere else?

    That makes no sense. It's illegal for me to buy x-rated porn in Brisbane. But it's perfectly legal (not just unenforceable) for me to mail-order it from Canberra - posession of porn isn't against the law. However, if it became illegal for me to posess "Jenna loves Kobe", should somebody in Canberra be liable for me buying it from them?

    Because he's not an american, and didn't commit any crimes in america, perhaps? If he pirates software in australia, give me one good reason why on earth he should go to america for trial / sentence??? I can legally shout the word "fuck" as loud as I please on the street here, but in the US (last time I checked) it's a misdimeanor crime. If there's an american around, or on the phone to somebody standing next to me, should I therefore be extradited to the US for an appearance before judge judy?
