If they feel that when names appear, the movie is over, let them miss the stuff they put in the credits to reward cinephiles who watch movie until the actual end, and not just up to the point where the creators' names come up.
I don't understand the people that start to leave before the credits even start, when they think the movie is "finishing up". Several times i've seen these douchebags stand around the stairs for 15 minutes because there's more to the movie than they thought.
It took me a while to grasp how much money Microsoft is making. 9.6 Billion dollars. $9,620,000,000.00. I wonder how many nations have a GNP less than what microsoft does in sales??
There's not enough of a market to make it worth Amazon's while setting up the distribution infrastructure for an Australian store.
iTunes on the otherhand doesn't have a physical product so it's only contractual reasons (ie. stupid music industry) that prevents a worldwide iTunes day one.
They say on their what's new page that they're upping the limit to 2GB. They're probably doing it proportionally over April 1st, so by the end of the day you'll have 2GB and it'll stop (for now).
I had to "fix" our VM to ignore System.gc() if it gets called a lot.
AFAIK a call to System.gc() isn't suppoed guaranteed to actually execute GC, it just tells the VM that you would like it to GC if it could, please. So you're not doing anything wrong by ignoring calls to System.gc().
Although since you're writing a VM I probably don't need to tell you this.
Boeing is taking the Toyota route and making the Prius of airplanes, longer range (?and better fuel economy?).
Actually the 777-200LR is more expensive to operate than the A380 (per passenger). Tickets on a 777-200LR flight will probably be more expensive than on a "regular" flight, however they're betting on the fact that some people will prefer to pay extra to avoid a stopover.
For example this plane would be able to do London-Sydney in one hop (Note that it won't be able to do Sydney-London though, I read, because of headwinds). Although this will mean approximately 20 hours in the air on a single flight, I think i'd rather the stop over (nearly) half-way in SE Asia.
I would say that with the amount of smart cookies working for Google, someone managed to write a script that takes a nicely commented and well written javascript file and removes whitespace, comments, shortens variable names and spits out the result. This means they can have a smaller download for end users and a maintainable source file for developers.
It wouldn't take too long for someone who really wanted it to "un-obfuscate" the source. At least the formatting part you could do via a script and then rename variables when you work out what they're for.
Despite all that I could never take it back. I tried to take the cat back 24 hours after I bought it but I got about 2km down the road before everything was too blurry from the sudden onrush of water obscuring my vision.
Sounds like you've got an allergy. Get a hairless cat next time, or copious doses of antihistamines.
I've seen plenty of ads for Google's "adsense" technology, especially here on/.. Sure it's nitpicking, and people would go to Google regardless of the ad, but it's not like they don't advertise at all.
I got an MD player because when I got it there were only 1 or 2GB HD based players that were more than twice the price of the MD, so I was better off carrying a few small discs. Anyway, it's a bit of a manual process but the way I make MDs from MP3 is:
Use Nero to burn an audio CD image from MP3s
Mount image with ImageDrive
Use Sony's SimpleBurner to copy audio CD to MD without needing to check in/out or store the intermediate ATRAC file on the hard drive.
If I'm just copying a new audio CD I can just use SimpleBurner and do it without any intermediary steps.
Depending on the random number generation in the keygen you might find that there are one or two people there with your generated key. I know there have been cases where a person's legit game key wouldn't work because someone had randomly generated that key sometime before the person got their retail copy.
For those not in the know, Mr Bungle is Mike Patton's band - who was probably most famous for his side-project, Faith No More. He's also got a number of other side-project bands, my favourite is Fantomas (which includes the Mr Bungle bassist and ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo).
They do, they're just not normally all lined up like that but all over the board.
I wonder if some designer said "We need all those big round things all in one place" despite the fact it might not make sense in terms of the circuit:)
Or you take an empty case and old monitor, fill the case with enough bricks to make it weigh about the same as a PC. If it gets stolen they'll be in for a surprise and you're only out one case (and a few bricks).
Unless you plan on having an external antenna, which introduces a tamper point, good luck getting GPS reception in those circumstances. Heck, I can lose signal from satellites if I turn and my body gets in the way (when hiking - not driving).
Actually I was surprised by the Windows Firewall, it wouldn't let my laptop on my wireless subnet connect to my desktop on my wired subnet because by default the SMB ports are restricted to "local subnet only". I had to put in a custom filter that covered both my subnets to let me connect.
Google starts supporting Opera
Considering Google works fine in the other 95% of browsers out there I would say it's a case of when will Opera start supporting Google.

94.
Now, when's Amazon coming?
There's not enough of a market to make it worth Amazon's while setting up the distribution infrastructure for an Australian store.

Or maybe they'll have one of these roll-up screens.
It's the new Environmentally Friendly Apple. (Organic Apple??)

Well obviously you don't use your credit card information! ;)
Irish Coffee is fine.. I mean, since when do we associate acoholism and violence with the Irish?
(Yes, it's a vague Simpsons reference)
And software. eBay runs on Websphere AFAIK.
So what? I do that with my Dell Inspiron too. It's not hard to get x86 laptops with WiFi and Bluetooth.
;)
I can also play Doom 3 on mine today

If you can stand it, look at the dark bits in the video for All Saints - Pure Shores for an example.
Or if you prefer something you probably have on your PC, the Paris Hilton video also has this.

So you mean kind of like real life, except with respawn in case you fuck it up? :)
