Not quite... Tivo seems to be one of the more savy companies out there in this regard. They are hyperconsious about avoiding lawsuites. 1. They place certificates on your machine, the only other Tivos that can see yours are also registered on your account. The others have no way of decrypting information. Additionally it will only talk to others on its local subnet. 2. Like the RIAA cares about a new playing capability. If this were a new file sharing system they might go after them.. Is sony or the others sued each time they release a new music player? 3. Let your lawyers go on that golfing trip as they have nothing else to do. 4. New revenue stream.... 5. Life!!!!

China developing a world class space program would be the best thing possible for the US spaace program. I heartily encourage them on their endevour, and eagerly await any progress they make. And I hope that the the Chinese dont quit like the ruskies did. And why would an American be wishing this you may ask yourself? Because Americans thrive on competition. We will take this as a challenge and rise to opportunity. So bring it on China. Make yourself an opponent in this arena that we feel is worthy of our challenge.

Try and stop us (may I suggest a protest point underneath one of the thrusters?) There is the rather astronomical issue of distance to consider. Almost all of the convenient asteriods are WAYYYY out there compared to the moon. Maybe if we were very lucky we may catch a NEO and drop it in a Lagrange point and mine from there. But it seems like a crime to waste a perfectly good stepping stone like our moon. I would much rather they be mining and manufacturing stuff there than here.
