Many of Lucasfilm's innovations have been adopted throughout the movie industry in the past. I dont know if these markers are a new thing, lucas or not.
Isnt it likely that more and more studios will prosecute leaks in this manner?
Depends on this outcome I suppose. Id expect to see these markers spread throughout the industry and effect source leaks everywhere.
Try getting your hands on one of the older iMacs out there. The ones with the swivel-pivot LCD monitors.
That positional screen would come in super handy in a home work area like that. Gives you more freedom to work where you need to work and still see the screen.
I used to love this show and then it disappeared from the TechTV lineup a few years ago. John would moderate discussion between industry experts on a particular topic. And then he would grill them with his own questions. It was always interesting.
Id rather see more programming like this on the channel but I think those days are long gone.
I think TechTV needs more veterens like Dvorak. We know Leo isnt necessarily leaving the lineup, but who knows what in store for us.
Maybe they will bring some talent on board and make some interesting shows.

DEFINATELY POSSIBLE, you can port an application to the compact.NET framework easily.
You can even debug remotely if you have a docked PocketPC handy.
I cant wait to finally be able to switch phone networks. Ive been waiting forever for SprintPCS to offer a Bluetooth phone, instead they give me a phone with a crappy camera.
Who really uses that crappy camera!?
I call the SprintPCS store monthly, and I always get the same answer, "what the hell are talking about?", or "Ive never heard of Bluetooth"
I brought an iPaq with me to class everyday and used it to record the lecture.
The mic performance was impressive. I could let it record and just set it on the floor with the rest of my books and It would pick up everything. It was also discreet, no one ever knew that it was recording. So no professor or student ever complained.
I imagine some of the new mp3 players probably have a record feature. It came in very handy because my note taking skills arent the best.
There are always going to be more and more college graduates coming who are willing to code for less money. Younger people who are willing to work longer and harder who may not have established a family of their own yet.
The demand is going down and the supply is growing fast.
The real shortage is COMPETENT management. If you learn and can implement real software management practices, then your more marketable.
"Code Monkeys" are dime a dozen, and most younglings dont pay much attention to the management practices of software development endevours until after they are in the business a while.
There already is a digital cinema movement thats led by Toshiba, Texas Instruments, and Boeing. The difference is that these guys are actually making an effort to improve the quality of projection while reducing delivery costs, and they deliver on all claims.
I hope that Microsoft's effort is not intended to compete with that. What a joke it would be.
Now on the other hand if this is intended for independent film makers or the like. This is where Windows Media Player driving a DLP would be a good thing.
This is also another story that could have been posted on April 1st:)
For those who didnt notice before, AICN had a review of the most recently released trailer a good while before it was ever aired on TV. While then i was very skeptical, once the trailer finally aired and i saw it for myself. AICN was right on the money, and even included word for word quotations that appeared in the trailer.
While that doesnt exactly confirm the SW2 review to be accurate, it surely shows that their news about SW2 has been accurate so far. And Im pretty confident that they wouldnt post made up stuff concerning star wars.
Let me get this right. You would rather snoop around a frat house looking to hop on the net instead of hopping in on the fun? hehehe.
for the numbers, im in a fraternity and every room is fully hardwired. Plus we have a 802.11 hub running for public access. Works great for sharin MP3 libraries during parties! And the 802.11 draws in TONS of geeks with ipaqs for us to throw water balloons at!! woohoo!
Its the development managers job to correctly determine the time requirements. I dont know what your position was there.
Good advice says that anytime management or a higher up calls you in his office, presents a need for development, and documentation IS included in development, then asks how long it will take to get done, there is a definate correct response. "Let me examine the situation and ill come back to you in a few days with a solid estimate." If you tell your boss a number immediately, he will know that you are shooting from the hip. And even if you have many years experience, and knowing that real time estimations arent an exact science, your response is a guess. Executives and directors want hard facts, or at least presented as such.:) Go back to your desk and make a calculated estimation, and return to him with a report on how you made the estimation. Even if your estimations are off, which most likely they are by at least 15 to 20 percent, its the right way to do things. Its formal and will show that you have a good idea how software should be done. They may or probably wont even understand it, and will skip to the bottom line summary. Count on that. This is a perspective from a development manager.
When working "right-to-left", given a deadline up front, Do your report and figure out the time really needed to do the job. If they dont budge on the deadline, ask them which things would they like to leave out because of the limited time table. If that is not an option, after you make your argument. Then start looking for another company.
My view on your situation is that any company needing a mission critical component in 6 weeks is managed by a bunch of retards. And that your we're working at a company that was clearly already fucked.
The torpedoes on the submarine are at least as interesting then the recovery effort. Quite remarkable actually, of course if they dont explode before launch that is.:)
How many people would still use Napster now anyway?! You would be so lucky find my MP3 of someone playing a trumpet with their butt, let alone anything decent to listen to.

IBM has done this sort of research many years ago. Knowing how IBM is on the ball with patent law, I doubt they didnt patent this before.

see for yourself, this type of thing is old hat.
totally missing the point.
nice attempt to be funny.
I used to just watch any old video that circulates the net. Passed em along to friends for a laugh or a shock.
Ive seen that video your referring too and like you, called it quits. Enough is enough.
Its disturbing to see so many posts here already criticizing the suicider and the comments made by the mother. Very tasteless.

fiddy-cent ring tones RULE!
Where you shopping at?! Most places are charging more than that.

I cant believe how much credit people give the Matrix series.
Matrix Reloaded was just a movie where a thick layer of bullshit gets wrapped around special effects and whizbang cinematics.
Amen.. I agree 100% with you here.

What good is it if they cant play Quake while fragging gall bladders?!
a dedicated link is bad in that situation. One on One can get pretty boring after a while.
...And i thought putting my cdr's in the microwave for 5 seconds was fun! Where do i sign up for this job??

Thats a mute point. The United States does this sort of a thing all the time.
