I'm also over 40. In my last year of high school, 79/80, I remember playing Space Invaders against guys 10-20 years my senior. I'm not much of a gamer these days. I wonder if those 50-60-year-olds are.
The young became old and gave us Parental Advisory stickers to put on certain music packaging. Of course the sticker is worn like a badge of honor, but that's beside the point.
(bouncing off an original suggested title "Han's Island", besides, "Blood and Steel" was taken)
Bolo [Yang Tze] is alive and now controls the island, which is now a training ground. The island is a shadow of its former self. Everything has been dismantled by the authorities. No radios, electricity, no drugs or servants. It's a primitive island. Bolo is much older now and needs glasses because he's become extremely nearsighted.
Meanwhile, a tiny ship sets out on a three hour tour and quickly finds itself storm tossed on the rough sea waters. Passengers and crew of "The USS Minnow" Gilligan, the skipper, the millionaire, his wife, the movie star, the professor and Mary Ann are on the ship which sets ground on the opposite side of Han's Island.
The castaways at first think they are alone on an uncharted desert isle, but gradually come to realize they are not alone. As fate would have it, Gilligan loses his hat and clothes in the wreck, but finds some kung fu pants and a white gi.
Extremely nearsighted Bolo trips over a sleeping Gilligan while practicing martial arts on the beach, Bolo loses his glasses in the sand and he mistakes Gilligan for Bruce Lee. Gilligan is taken prisoner by Bolo's men and is prepared to participate against his will in a fight to the death with Bolo.
The castaways each try to free Gilligan from captivity. Skipper knows judo and tries to fight Bolo ("Little buddy, I'll save ya!") and is knocked on his butt. The millionaire tries to bribe Bolo, but his million-dollar check written on the back of a leaf is torn up ("Must be a Yale man!"). The movie star tries to seduce Bolo, but is rebuffed. Mary Ann tries to get to Bolo by feeding him a big meal, but he eats and drinks everyone under the table.
During the feast, the Professor use the diversion to search the island and discovers the old prison compound and finds the HAM radio that Bruce Lee used in Enter The Dragon. With a little knowhow and a few cocoanuts, he manages to get the radio working and tries to send a distress signal.
All seems lost as the fight draws near. Before the fight, the professor slips Gilligan a mild does of curare which paralyses Gilligan moments after the fight begins. Bolo declares victory.
A rescue boat arrives but Bolo and his henchmen take it over and leave the island and the castaways behind. Gilligan is now revived and the Skipper beats him over the head with his hat as the rescue boat drifts into the sunset.
A sine wave has no harmonics. A 20KHz sine wave does not sound any better than a 20KHz square wave because we cannot hear any harmonics that the square wave would introduce. We can't because the harmonics are filtered out. Let alone the fact that if you are over 30 you probably can't hear above 15KHz anyway.
This robot guitar sounds like a hammered dulcimer, and we all know how popular those are!
I was most impressed by the Lola track because they managed to make it sound like a mildly competent guitarist--just like the original recording! I didn't like how it had an obviously layered distorted track with a second guitar playing lead and bending notes. Kinda ruins the credibility.
I've played guitar for many many years and I don't feel threatened by this at all. Heck, I actually kinda like it, but it's not at all like a real guitar player.
An above-average synth player can simulate a better guitar than this. What's missing from this robot is the almost endless expressive control that real hands and fingers can provide. Something as simple as changing the picking position, for instance, can radically change the tone.
I'm no luddite--if someone can duplicate a guitar player mechanically, more power to them! This ain't quite there yet.
They could be English actors hiding their accents.
I won an Emmy for Best Miniseries, for cripes sake.
D-oh!
I want me some of that free wifi!
Now I have 4 desktops under my desk :)
;-)
Then you can't really call them "desktops," can you?
The problem was, people thought .net was a web address.
Such confusion will never happen with Web 2.0!
Every bit as stupid as dot net or .net whatever the heck it was.
I'll never look at Nick Fury the same way...wait, that sounds wrong.

The Lagomorphs, order Lagomorpha, are an order of mammals of which there are two families, Leporidae (hares and rabbits), and Ochotonidae (pikas).
Gotta agree about Dreamhost and not just because I want the referrals. ;-)

Blah blah yadda yadda etc.
I purposely posted the above without a karma bonus and some moderator modded it down as "overrated." Heh. Go waste your mod points somewhere else.
Because I'd never know what the heck it was anyway.

If only I had some mod points. :D
I see no mention of a speaker on that page. My browser's "Find" command can't see it either!

Airport searches will no longer be done on randomly selected persons. These searches will be biased against Middle Easterners.
I don't think that change is needed. My Middle Eastern friend told that since 9/11 me he gets randomly search before every flight.
