"Despite my very positive first impressions, I couldn't get XYZ to work with my sound card at all, even though I was testing XYZ on a brand new PC from a major vendor. The system was based on an utterly mainstream Intel motherboard with an on-board Intel sound system. This isn't some weird, off-brand system using unknown components: It's about as mainstream as it gets."
Sorry, but the voice talent doesn't make the show. The writers make the show.
I'm sure there are enough excellent Simpson's character impersonators out there that it would be hard to tell the difference if they replaced the current voice talent. So how does that make them worth over 300k per episode?
The humor is what makes the show, and the writers are responsible for that.
And keep in mind, they did this previously. Back in 1998, they thought that $30,000 an episode wasn't enough, so they got raised to $125,000 PER EPISODE.
Apparently, that isn't enough money to get by on these days.
You have to keep in mind that Slashdot is a dynamic site, meaning there is probably tens of thousands of lines of script code containing the offending HTML fragments that would need to be changed. If this code wasn't properly designed from the start for upgradability (i.e. spaghetti code), large parts of it might need to be completely rewritten.
It's not as simple as redesigning a static website to use CSS.
What everyone seems to be missing here is that choline is natural and occurs in foods we eat everyday. This isn't some scary untested drug... this is a staple of many people's diets.
For this reason, it is possible that we evolved to use this substance during development.
Here's some of the foods that choline is found in:
Cabbage Calves' liver Cauliflower Caviar Eggs Garbanzo beans (chickpeas) Green beans Lentils Rice Soybeans Soy lecithin Split peas All animal and plant products.
Since he says "I guess MGM's lawyers and New Line's lawyers are going to have a huge amount of fun over the next few years trying to work it all out", I question how long he can wait.
A "few years" may make the movie seem disjointed from the rest of them. One of the great things about the first three is that noone really aged. If he waits 5+ years to make what is supposed to be a prequel, will those look out of place?
This is an excellent game. I was never a big fan of FPS but the "onslaught" mode in UT2004 has me hooked. Excellent mix of combat and strategy, the controls feel right, and the vehicles are really fun.
I still haven't played the standard "deathmatch" and "capture the flag" modes (and I am not really in a hurry to try them).
There is much more to be had here then in previous Unreal titles.
I don't know about the Neural Feedback Training, but I'd suggest finding an alternative to Ritalin ASAP.
There are many studies out there about the inefficient conversion of ALA To EPA and DHA in people with ADHD, leading me to believe that pumping your kid full of stimulants is a (very) wrong answer.
This is a typical Bush maneuver... propose something that the public will "ooh" and "ahh" about, which is there is no budget for. Pick up some election points in the process.
In this case, the fact that he can't afford this doesn't matter, because it's at least 10 years in the future. So Bush will just forward any bills to the next administration and they will have to worry about it.
The odds of the lottery are fixed. For any amount of numbers, you have the same chance of winning. The size of the prize does not affect the odds, and it is never "in your favor".
VB.Net, C#, or any other .Net framework language are certainly NOT scripting languages!
Shouldn't be too long now until we have spiders like in Minority Report.
Toss 'em in the building and let them tell you whats in every room.
The transportation sector I assume consists of more than just automobiles.
A 747 uses a lot more gas than an SUV.

Microsoft has a massive R&D budget. What makes you think that an open source product could ever "out-innovate" Microsoft?
I think it's fine to let MS spend the millions of dollars on research, and reap the rewards for free.
When your helicopter engine quits, you autorotate to a landing. When your plane engine quits, you glide.
With this, you have absolutely no chance of survival during a large portion of the flight if the thing quits on you.
I'd imagine it's too low to use a parachute, but high enough to kill you.
Did you even RTFA?

I think you are forgetting about the rest of the "Coalition of the Willing".
Oh.. wait. Never mind.
My question is how is this post, which is completely wrong and not even replied under the post it is referring to, modded at +3 Informative?!?!

At least they have a sense of humor about it.
From the PDF:
"You can make fun of the fact that you cannot
say the phrase "Super Bowl" (e.g., by beeping
it out)"
You mean you haven't seen Bush's desktop?
It's right here.

C# is the second fastest language in their benchmarks, only trumped by C++, and it is an interpreted language. So your logic falls apart.
Python scores some pretty abysmal benchmarks compared to all the other languages, including Java. So I'd say, it's just slow.

Try Mercola.com, which has some very informative articles on ADHD. As a start, make sure your kid isn't having a lot of sugar and caffeine (ie drinking fruit juices and soda).

Karl Rove is brilliant!
Uhhh.. what about the rest of it? You then have to take that tag, open up a hex editor, reverse it, find the bytes, and null them out.
I mean, it's not rocket science, but that was some creative editing on your part to make it look ridiculously easy.

Repent!
Umm.. there were a lot of individuals besides Bush on that list that would be considered conservatives/big business that liberals could vote for:
Ariel Sharon
Bill O'Reilly
Ann Coulter
Richard Grasso
Bill Bennett
Jack Grubman
