    he's the guy in business attire working at a tech job. he's the guy dating your daughter. he's the guy with dark skin you see at the strip club.

    and one day, he turns into the guy resposible for killing X number of people.

    thats why we dont make borders the #1 priority...

    We use a couple of these, and they are not anything like what the reviewer described.

    Reliable? IBM DeskStar IDE drives in a RAID configuration is reliable? Right...

    Frequent weird permissions problems, connectivity issues, etc etc. Not just on an older model, but also a new one we recently purchased as well....

    Speaking purely on a political level here, a shuttle disentegrating (sp?) over east texas does a lot more harm to the collective conscience of the nation than if a commuter jet goes down in the florida keys. Given that in mind, you would actually think NASA had the highest QA process in the world....but as we've seen...its horribly flawed.

    ...neither? Sell the TV, and where your entertainment center would be, put a bookcase. I cut back to basic cable and though i "miss" some shows, I dont miss wasting countless hours on the couch .....i cant even tell you what "reality shows" are on these days....

    How else can we hold scammers and spammers accountable if they make it super hard to track them down. The majority of those "online pharmacies" have bogus WHOIS info and probably take good peoples money.

    2d barcodes are a bitch to work with. Instead of a normal barcode scanner which presents a wide area of scanning, 2d barcode readers have a small camera inside them that images and then interprets the barcode. This requires assembly line like precision. Anything passing under the reader has to be within a half inch or so of the reader. You usually only find them on more expensive items that are produced on strict assembly lines...

    They have 'em. But even volunteers, or "auxillary" as some are known, still have to go through much of the physical, mental, and background checks normal cops go through. They attend an "academy" but its not as long as normal police training. Usually you only see auxillary cops during big events, natural disasters, etc. Here in VA they call them down to the beach when the streets are literally overflowing with drunken, violent, college students ( imagine "freaknik" in atlanta, just in VA ) ...

    No private citizens to depend on? Goodbye volunteer fire, ambulance, and police departments. Yes, thats right, in the majority of cities in the US, most EMS people are volunteers. Private citizens, with day jobs.

    You want all those services to be paid for by the government? We can do that, just dont bitch when they raise your taxes. There are many necessary services being run by private citizens, that if the gov't had to pick up the tab for, your paycheck would look even smaller.

    ...a question which sounds like "flamebait", but it seriously isnt.

    Are there any real objective 3rd parties who investigate and report on the different aspects of linux ( ie TOC, benchmarks, etc ) who truly are impartial to either OS. It seems that anybody writing 'reports' are either slanted towards windows, or linux. I dont think i've ever read a report that says "well, linux sucks at x, and windows sucks at y as well. in summary, they both suck ( or they both rock, or whatever, etc. ) . "

    Where does one find unbiased reviews and benchmarks of OS's ?

    ..where a good majority of the features provided by Outlook can be incorporated into a web based application, thereby reducing the threats created by using Outlook, and allowing portability:

    - scheduling, contact management : easy ....
    - Attachments : easier....
    - calendar sharing : easy...

    Give me the man hours, a good development team, a solid web sever and database server, and you could have a semi-decent web based, accesible from anywhere, email solution. Email is such a simple application, and its so feasible to do the same work as a client, via server to browser interaction....

    if none of this makes sense, its cause im running on about 20 cups of coffeee...
