..Now there is yet another drug that patients can abuse because they believe it will help them get rid of a cold.
Though I've yet to see any clinical research supporting the theory that abusing antibiotics creats drug resistant strains of bacteria, the fact still remains that many, many, many patients force their doctors to prescribe them un-needed antibiotics for viral infections. If you dont believe me, try reading the sci.med.* newsgroups or WebMD message boards. I would not want to be a doctor during the height of the cold/flu season..
....Because you can ruin them before you even knew what happened. And pester your parents to get you braces now, no matter how much you think they will hurt.

And it would be funnier to see the nerd who does this being chased by myself and about 20 other angry surfers when they find out it was a false alarm.....
...But i think MS needs to further its efforts in the HW arena as opposed to the SW arena.
Call me crazy, but I have not found ( for the price ) a comparable optical mouse on the same level as the Intellimouse Explorer. It seems like MS may have found a niche that they can exploit...

I am just not impressed with whats on TV anymore. Either im surfing the web on my laptop, listening to music on my stereo, or reading.... call it pop culture overload, but i cant think of any shows on anymore that i am fanatical about...
maybe im just growing tired in my old age of 24...
...thats fine. I just bought a new TV a year ago. I will use that MF'er till it breaks. When it does, I will not buy a new one. I'll just read books or something.
Sorry, I'm not going to be a sacrificial lamb to the FCC..

USB just unnecessarily complicates things in my opinion.
Huh? How about backing up that statement... The only problem I see with USB is poor support under linux. Is that USB's fault? Nope. Why do I get the impression your main reason for disliking USB is the fact that it's mainly a "Windows Only" standard... ?

Equipment can help you, sure, if youre trying to catch images of the rare south african pocket fox in his native environment, but what makes or breaks a picture is the composition. If you really want to say your camera 'takes good pictures', then start studying composition and the artistry of photography. Heres some obligatory links:
You just defeated your own point. With the exception of the big three citys (ie NY, LA, Chicago), the mass transit system collectively sucks. I live in a somewhat large area ( SE Va ), and the local transportation system around here has changed names, added more routes, lowered rates, etc, and the traffic still hasnt eased up. I think the major problem is most citys werent designed with mass transit in mind. It was more like an afterthought after major highways and street systems were constructed.
Another thing to keep in mind is that in NY, LA, whatever, people accept the transit system as a part of the whole 'city experience'. You can probably develop a subway system here and people will still not adopt it well... they get used to a certain way of doing things and are stubborn to change
Part three The Matrix Revolutions is also in production and will be released in December 2000
Not only are they filming the most complicated sequence ever, but they will be the first movie company to premiere a movie in the _past_. How they plan to manage the space/time disruption is apparently a closely guarded studio secret
Did a search on ebay for X-Band in completed items, and this came up. Guy's ebay id is estateauctionsinc , looks like he's just a guy who buys stuff at estate sales and such. Ebay has him listed as being from Jacksonville, so I looked up Norb Novcain in the white pages and yep, he's from Jacksonville...
Hmm... I guess car magazines shouldnt run reviews of new models, because anybody interested in those new cars already test drove them... and Money magazine shouldnt give any stock advice, because people who buy stocks already know what to buy... ... .. now do you see how flawed your argument is? So what if "everyone slightly interested in opera that reads/. already tested it ", believe it or not there actually are people who have _never used it_.....
If Verisign is going to spend this sort of money on advertising (I don't know how many of these letters get sent out - but I got one, and only own three domain names)
I work in the direct mail industry ( call it junk mail and i'll hurt you )... Single page mailings like this dont cost all that much, probably somewhere in the range of $5k-10k.. pretty cheap compared to some other mediums... and thats a pretty liberal figure too... It may even been cheaper than that...
So in other words, I dont think they are selling any kidneys to do a advertising campaign like this..
First off, the devils advocate bit : We have something similiar to this for movies, why not video games...
Now critic bit : Why do you want to criminalize something as insanely simple as video game sales. If anything, mandate a rating system ( what the hell is wrong with the current rating system manufacturers voluntarily impose now anyway? ).. Why in the fxck does the govt have to step in and target video games...
And on another note, have you noticed how there isnt hardly any real tough legislation against selling profane cd's, or allowing access to R rated movies, to minors ?.. Could is possibly be because the video game industry isnt a 50 billion dollar lobby-happy entity like the RIAA or the MPAA... but then again, i am preaching to the choir here at slashdot..
<tangent> we need to rally up normal folks (tm) who dont keep up with issues like these....

Sorry, but if I tried to pass off some of the crap that MS has in these trials, i'ld be in jail on contempt charges.
Maybe i'm naive, but i think the gov doesnt really give a fxck about MS or their 'anti-competitive' practices, they just brought out the smoke and mirrors...
Is that your corporate network's security is more important than the national security of the US?

I've had 12:01 tickets ready to go and there is no way I'm gonna spoil it watching a low quality divx.
