I worked at a gas station in high school that had a similar situation - it sat on a long triangle of land at a busy intersection. We always had to be very careful leaving the shop/store building to go out to the pumps; it's amazing how fast people would speed through there to cut that corner.

I'll admit, when I tried it briefly on my desktop machine (at 3360x1050) I used the 7800GT, but that's more pixels than most people have.

True but even so she's not "perfect"; she does refuse the pardon at the end of the First Age and remains under the Ban until she rejects the ring, due in no small part to her ambition.

Elrond is another matter altogether; he seems to have gotten nothing but the best from _all_ of his heritage, be it Noldo, Edain or Maia. But that entire family is fairly special in Tolkien's world; so I'm willing to give him some leeway.

And as far as the original troll goes :) Remember Gandalf "Nothing is evil in the beginning. Even Sauron was not so" (I forget the exact quote, but it ran something like that). And for that matter, neither was Melkor.

Verilog was originally developed by Cadence, IIRC, but is now a standard; VHDL was designed for the DoD's VHSIC program and is (loosly) based on ADA.

Quite handy, because 99% of the time when I stick a DVD in the DVD player, that's exactly what I want to do, and navigating the silly Sony 2-way remote (I _hate_ complicated remotes.....) is such a pain.
