    NASA will be including that "rock" on the next Moon mission. Thus, when it is returned, it will be less inaccurate to call it a Moon "rock". NASA will also be giving a slightly larger genuine Moon rock to each European country which wasn't so whiny about the previous round of gifts.

    sending the sail roughly 1 million kilometers off course by the time it reaches the Oort Cloud.

    Is there a specific part of the Oort Cloud they want to go to?
    If this ability is needed to travel to other planets accurately, then it seems important. For the Oort cloud, not as much.

    Will this solar sail be going at a speed that will allow it to do any useful observations, or are we just going to watch for the flash when it 'finds' something at that speed?

    I had DirecTV for 7 years, the only times it went out were when the power went out (hardly their fault), and occasionally about 4 minutes before a really nasty storm would hit (nice to have the warning). Meanwhile, there were Comcast technicians out about once a week to fix the rats nest of cables actually sticking out of their relay (junction, whatever, not sure of the technical term) box. The only reason we (hesitantly) switched away was that FIOS was available. Probably the only reason I don't see Comcast trucks in my neighborhood very often is that most people have switched to FIOS. I should note that the Verizon techs who came to install it were (surprisingly) polite and competent, although I didn't ask to see their ID's and they may have been imposters...

    The military kind of tank, that is. You could go to the United States Army Ordnance Museum for a day of wandering around a huge collection of tanks and other military stuff. Very cool museum. I once spent several hours wandering around it. And it's not too far from Philly.

    I think they should give her the money back, and rescind her degree.

    Public knowledge that they allow people like this to graduate will do far more harm to them, and their image, in the long term than the loss of the money. I think this devalues the degrees of everyone else who graduated from that school.
