I got morrowind aproximately the same time, and I was playing it constantly. But as far as the gameplay goes, its not really NEW. Anyone remember Betrayal at Krondor?? what, a 6 yr old game? its like a clone with a better first person engine and new story. Except betrayal at krondor didnt crash constantly : \
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but what if this was say, aoltimewarnercnn-multi-whatever, and they banned users off their network if they were found to be running linux? and used the excuse "All of our complaints and legal inquiries involving hacking and spam ended up resolving to end users that ran linux, so we've made this proactive step to ensure a secure online enviroment for our customers."
Total BS, but what can an end user do about it? Ask for a refund? "Sorry , TOS violation, suck it."
How about Ms. R0$3n comes over my house, makes me a sandwich, _______ me and then I give her $19.99?
I wouldnt want to do anything with ms. Rosen that I felt the need to blank it out:(

ok i'll bite. I voted today in georgia, got to use the ol' electronic voting system and all. Basic touch screen system. What was interesting was the Amount of ppl voting. I overheard the pollworking talking about it, said that in our district there are 1999 ppl registered to vote, and that (this was at about 6:15, polls close at 7), over 1400 ppl had already voted, i believe. Very high turnout, and the line showed. we had 10 voting machines, it took about half an hour or a bit more to vote. But the voting place was a middle school gym, and there was prolly enough room for several hundred ppl to vote. And as long as you're In The Door by 7 pm, you get to vote, even if it takes half an hour of standing in line. So lets see, polls open from 7am - 7pm, just have to get in there before 7pm to vote, facility could support(as in stick in line) prolly 10x amount of ppl that were ever in line at one point. If we can get it right in georgia, ANYONE can. 50th in the US in grade school education scores, iirc.
Maybe all these "we need to extend hours" places need to get some more booths, or new management, cause I find it hard to see how anyone cant get to a poll between 7am - 7pm.
And why exactly do our roads need billions of dolalrs of upkeep a year??
Does my 1984 mazda 626 really cause that much damage to the roads? Or would 10,000 cars just like mine? Nope. Big trucks. Big heavy ass trucks tear up the roads, and we the normal average Joe Gas-n-Go have to pay for it.
Maybe they should look at expanding the rail industry and put some serious detriments to shipping damn near everything by big rig. It would certainly make the roads alot safer, if not for the simply fact that I won't have to dodge the big chunks of retread tire these things flake off.
Remember, less trucks = safer roads, which is Good For The Children(TM).
I had to do the same thing a Georgia Tech last fall/spring. Since i graduated i dont know if the situation has gotten any better but it was pretty bad there. had the 2-4 second latency thing as well. Although we werent limited at the dorms we were limited on the main campus pipe, iirc 150 M/s , and it was always saturated. They wree in the process of getting the $$ to upgrade the dorm hardware so they could limit stuff, hopefulyl they've gotten some of it done.
On the plus side, the phone line was excellent, 50k dialup connection, just enough for some good counterstrike or brood war : - D
What if this was ANYTHING other than the software industry? What if HP made the car you drive your family around in?
Of course we should TRUST the corporations to fix all the problems with their products. Why wouldnt they? And of course dont let the public know that new car SuperFastExpensive SUV can explode if hit at the right spot, why should they know about that???
Is microsoft going to "give" them software And hardware, or just a bunch of software? "Upgrading Systems" isnt a very clear term.
IF they are giving them a bunch of hardware And software, hey no problem, let them spend the $$, and they can just say to microsoft in X years, "Oh sorry, we actually broke bid laws since we Do end up paying you, so, we cant pay you. Oh, and those systems are critical to our police doing their job, you cant have them back. What, you would cripple an entire city's ability to fight crime?!::calls new outlets::"
If its just software, then , well, Is there even anything Like this being done in the *nix world ?
from the article : "New Orleans police will be using a system Microsoft developed for the state of Oklahoma. Dubbed the Offender Data Information System, the system can link dozens of law enforcement agencies, jails and court systems. A virtual crime-fighting tool, the system also provides officers with online mug shots of suspects, warrants and other data. In Oklahoma, the system is expected to expand into accident reporting, video arraignment and automated pawn-shop-ticket tracking. "
If you have to go to college to learn how to use Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint, god help you when you encounter soemthing challenging.
