Any substance that, when withdrwn from, gives you headaches, the sweats and severe drowsiness can be classified as a toxin to the body. Likewise, caffeine is habit-forming, intensifies feelings of anxiety, can produce insomnia, stains teeth etcetera.
Perhaps God was foreshadowing what was soon to transpire, that man's lifespan would indeed dwindle from the near-millennial numbers to a maximum of 120 years.
At the beginning of the world, during the time of Adam and right up to Noah, mankind lived exponentially longer than today. The average lifespan was 912 years (for a span of 1700 years) on a strict vegetarian diet:
Genesis 1:29 "And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food."
In fact, every animal also ate a vegetarian diet! There was no consumption of flesh, even among the lions and sharks:
Genesis 1:30 "And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so".
It wasn't until after the flood of Noah's day, when the climate was completely altered and plant-based foods became scarse, that God allowed the eating of flesh. You'll see the condition was that all blood needed to be drained from the animal first (is this where the belief of eating kosher foods stems from, can someone confirm or deny?).
Genesis 9:3 "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood."
Anyhoo, after this time, lifespans became dramatically shorter.
Tangent: Personally, I've never understood why science and religion must be at odds. Why can't one's deity be the one who caused these scientific laws and phenomena, and either nudged evolution a little bit here and there or maybe just planned it all in the beginning (like writing a program, or planning a chess game ahead) and set it loose?
Science helps us understand how God did it. I believe God will never break a law of the Universe. Why should He?

Google is better than any investment in the world right now. Their brainpower puts Mensa to shame.
With all those smart people at Google, how come we're not seeing more Linux support? Why haven't they made Linux versions of web accelerator, Google video player or the Google Desktop?
I'm an old school gamer - I was around when the Atari 2600 was first introduced into the market (although my parents couldn't afford one). I have seen many console launches to this day, believe you me. Yes, we'll never see the kind of technological leap in graphics and processing power as we saw going from the Sega Genesis/SuperNintendo era to the Sony PlayStation/Sega Saturn (mentioning the 3DO would only confuse things), I still love reading about the first wave of games that will usher in the new gaming technology of the day. I may never buy the XBox 360, but it's still cool to read about what gaming companies are backing what systems etc and all the associated industry rumblings. It's like pre-Superbowl hype or sleigh rides and candy canes at Christmas time (or any other superfluous, superficial pagan traditions that bastardize the true meaning of holidays).
I guess what I'm saying is stop being such grumps and savour the blatant, sensational promotions and unrealistic expectations of this new gaming era!
Meanwhile, back in the States, murderers and rapists rarely affect 1.6 billion people in one go.
Very likely, you and I both have been affected by this man Scott Levine. Even our mothers have been spammed directly or indirectly by this greedy crook. But do you have any scars? Are any of us haunted from the experience and receiving therapy for what he's done? He's been convicted of personal data theft, but have you been any more than inconvenience in an ancillary way? I doubt it.
Yeah, he deserves time in the clink. but serve more time than serial killers and dangerous re-offending rapists? Feh.
but when you see Emperor Palpatine in the spot where Pope Benedict's picture is supposed to be, Wikipedia loses credibility.
That's funny stuff. Yes, it's factually wrong, but it's funny and if I was doing research on the Pope and saw that, it would be a welcome moment of levity for rather wry subject matter.
Besides, you shouldn't rely on just one source for facts anyway.
As he read this brilliant description, in bright red letters against a background as white as the purest of snow, to make his eyes ache slightly from the strain, a creeping thought slowly approached him much like a stalker of Natalie Portman, and as the thought materialized in his head, it told him -- "wow, he thinks exactly like a Slashdotter".
He leaned back in his chair and listened to the wood groan under his shifting spine. The words on the computer screen stared at him menacingly. Could it really be the undead, unholy scrit of Stephen King, under the nickname Jugalator? King had been been reported dead at the age of 55, and Jason remembered how the Slashdot news story hit him like a beowolf cluster of right and left hooks to the midsection. And now he felt punch-drunk again. He pushed away from the basking electromagnetic glow of the computer monitor and stumbled into the kitchen. He needed to clear his mind, jarr his sences into reality (he didn't have a girlfriend to do that for him). In desperation, he poured a bowl of hot grits down his denim pants and howled in pain, but the oppressive thoughts of SCO and Natilie Portman had bore their claws deep into his consciousness. Was he doomed to writhe in insanity like an old person in Korea who used email instead of Instant Messenging?
I've found Helix Player isn't so much a media player as a launchpad for other media players. What's the big deal about that?
I'm tired of all the useless KDE and Gnome multimedia apps in my Applications Menu that don't work, I won't waste my time installing them anymore. Even XMMS, which used to be my fave linux mp3 player has stopped playing mp3's die to some legality. It's no use to anyone now, especially not me!
So far, Realplayer and MPlayer are the only media players worth using nowadays (and MPlayer can be a nightmare to install). Flash from macromedia is supported, but not Shockwave. What gives?
I figure movies and streaming audio/video should be ready to go, even from a fresh install. Linux cannot proceed without it.
When it comes to msn messaging, my daughter has the stamina and dedication of an olympic champion. If left to her own devices, she'd be on it all night and into the next day, although I try my best to curb this obsession and read her past conversations when I feel so compelled.
For me, IM's drive me nuts. They're too pushy and I end up with all these contacts of people I can't remember. And it's a great way to get pc viruses and God knows what else!
I've bought and downloaded whole albums for $1.24, and songs for as low as $.06 at AllOfMP3.com. You have to commit to purchasing at least $10 worth of music, but my money has gone a long way. I even downloaded several albums I owned in the past but lost over time, for example "green Mind" by Dinosaur Jr. I don't think I could even find that album in most music stores anymore!
People are born with mental disorders, and Gender Identity Disorder/Klinefelter's Syndrome certainly qualifies as such. It could also be a distortion of moral values and gender identity due to imbedded past experiences and even whacked out philosophical leanings. Complex pyschological/sexual problems as distressing as this one deserve our sympathy and understanding and not our scorn. Larry Wachowski needs help, mocking him will only chase him further into his own private hell.
That being said, it's deviant behavior and it's wrong. Wrong from both a biological and a psychological standpoint. No scientific explanations, no fancy terms will change that fact. Transexuality is a flaw Rebecca, not a feature!
Tom Cruise is a bit of a nutbar - no doubt about it - but he is a fascinating, headstrong A-list actor who stirs up controversy and sells copy. His fanatical devotion to Scientology seems to have hurt "War of the Worlds" at the box office (and threatens to cripple his own career) and yet he doesn't even flinch.
Bruce, on the other hand, hasn't really turned the world on it's ear since Army of Darkness. It was that single brilliant movie filmed 20 years ago (give or take - too lazy to find out exactly when) that strangely continues to buoy him to B-list celebrity status.
Good or bad, Tom Cruise pumps out the big Hollywood blockbusters like a tennis ball machine gone evil. He has as much a right to speak about whatever he believes as much as anybody. Bruce should maybe take his own advice and "shut-up and act", or at least stop being such a bloody hypocrite.
We have "bad movie night" at the local video store every thursday, and Jackie Chan's Fantasy Mission Force was the feature attraction about a month or so ago.
I'm at a loss of words in describing it - it has to be seen to be believed. And although it was "bad" in many respects, it was a hoot to watch. A classic "so bad it's good" movie!
Caffeine is a drug, and an addictive one at that, but it isn't poisonous. Please stop watering down our language.
...
Did I mention irritability? Intensifies feelings of anxiety? Nitpicking?

You've given them alot of personal information, that's payment enough.
What are they DOING in all those buildings with all those PhDs?
Apparently not thinking much about Linux.
In fact, I don't think most of those supposed smart people working for Google even understand Linux. Alot of hype, that's all it is.
Perhaps God was foreshadowing what was soon to transpire, that man's lifespan would indeed dwindle from the near-millennial numbers to a maximum of 120 years.
Yes, I know what exponentially means, and no, I didn't use the word correctly in my parent post. Mybad.

both start pages are boring and uninspired too.

Good points Onan, but what os you sportin? If it's linux (I'm running Redhat 9 and Ubuntu, on seperate boxes of course) what games are you playing?
I find there's a huge gaping chasm in the linux gaming department. Not many big name games to be had, especially MMORPG's.
Is Freeciv any good? What's out there?
Google has lost some of it's shine the last few months, but it's still the favorite, amongst the editors and the readers.
Prediction: Google by a touchdown.
