Wise words that will fall on deaf ears. When it goes your way, its simple. When it doesn't go your way, it's a conspiracy. The legions of people that follow Bill O'Reily / Michael Moore / et al. are a prime example of this.
You forget that only a small minority of people actually think for themselves. I totally agree with Parker and Stone when they say that if you have to be bribed or coerced into voting or if you are voting out hate or for purely partisan reasons, you probably should just stay at home.
It is pretty ironic that the some of the same people who are supposedly into free speech and open thought are so derisive about people with opposing viewpoints, even when those points are expressed in a friendly manner.
I started thinking about that when my roommate got back from one of those "Rock The Vote" type events at a punk rock show. He was laughing about how all of the republican/independents (basically != democrats) where treated like the shit they where. Of course, he didn't see the hypocrisy (considering the genre of the music is supposed to be about thinking for ones self/fighting the machine/blah blah)
Quite a few (younger)left wing people I know seem to be more interested in dissent than in the actual issues. Look at the number of people who would rather blow whistles at an anti-war rally than write letters to their Senators and Representatives. The reason I think some people are undecided about the 04 election is not because they like Bush or hate Kerry. It is becuase they do not want to be on the same side as a bunch of hysterical "No Blood for Oil" protestors. Rememeber "The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend" dominates the rationale of most people.
wow..I like how when someone criticizes a site that happens to be left-wing, they get modded down. It seems that some moderators haven't figured out that there is no real difference between being "left-wing" or "right-wing". Both sides use the logic that the other side is automatically wrong, regardless of the situation. The MoveOn/Michael Moore zealots are no different than the Swift Boat/anti-Kerry zealots.
I'm pretty surprised that no one has mentioned that this bomb lacked the plutonium trigger needed for a thermonuclear explosion. The plutonium trigger is the primary means of "arming" the weapon.
You think Kerry will be more honest than Bush? You apparently haven't discovered that all politicians are evil liars. Seriously, I do not know what possible motivation Bush would have to keep this secret. This would actually help him in an election year. Most likely, they are trying to verify all the details before they put a spin on it.
Ironically, it was Liberals that had such books as, "To Kill A Mockingbird", "Huckleberry Finn", and "Of Mice and Men". Liberals and Conservatives both suck. I stay right in the middle.
Yeah...but it really doesn't take a conservative to recognize that Streisand and Moore are both f*cked up in the head. People seem to like them because of the "Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend" logic.
This is semi-related, but I heard a rumor that Comedy Central was not going to show the "Lemmiwinks" episode of South Park anymore. This came shortly after the FCC crack down on Clear Channel, et al.
California is the model "bleeding heart" liberal state. They are the same as the far right in that they break out the Thought Police at every opportunity.
I never thought I would be a "conservative" (an ultra-moderate...but still conservative) after all the stereotypes and brainwashing about what conservatives are supposed to look and act like. But...after I discovered that liberals are basically childish socialists, I quickly realigned myself politically.
Has anyone else noticed a parallel between the Gay Rights Movement and Apple Computer? It started about the same time and Apple even has the rainbow thing going. Ahhh...the "alternative" lifestyle of Macintosh.
We need to start setting up ftp sites and listing hundereds of files with "Office", "Microsoft", etc. Stuff that there scripts would likely check for and then start submitting them to Google, DMOZ, etc. We could easiliy overwhelmthem.
Parker and Stone were talking about how disgusted they were partisanship. but, i suppose you probably have a hard-on for kerry or for bush.

PBS has an excellent timeline that describes the history of the transistor,
'Transistorized! The History of the Invention of the Transisor'.
For one, CO2 isn't radioactive for thousands of years.
It's called Hypocrisy.

There is a *huge* difference between libertarian and liberal.
This contrasts them rather concisely.

Let's Slashdot is 'news for nerds'. Linux in Iraq seems to qualify a litte bit more than anti-war propaganda.
wow...I know everybody here is anti-america an all that, but america not immediately needing IPv6 addresses is a conspiracy?

Check out Freevo.
It uses XMLTV for listings.
We were doing this in my 7th grade science class with our superfly 386DX-40.

The problem is that alot of geeks are overweight. If you are overweight, no amount of trickery will attract a girl. (at least in America).
