My son and his classmates have to do weekly blog entries on the books they read. I had no idea my school district was exposing the kids to Interweb predators. Where's my Congressman!!!
...on what is important to you and what you need to do.
Years ago I started on getting certifications, but quickly realized I was only transferring my money to someone else. This point was sent home at a job interview where my prospective employer informed me I was to complete one NT certification a week (and on my own time, mind you). I asked what was the point of being certified if all it meant was I could pass the tests. He just gave me a "look". Thankfully, I didn't get the job. I ended up at a place where I was asked to demonstrate my skill at the interviews. It's been a great 7-1/2 years so far.
Reminds me of my time in the Air Force and my wife worked in customer service at the base exchange (military version of Target). People would bring stuff in they obviously bought at a store in town and demand a refund. The manager would give it to them just to shut them up and get them out.

I commute on my bicycle. No problems--except for a few maniacal drivers, many ignorant drivers, and that black SUV with the dark windows that follows me everywhere.
It's sad that model rocketry is being killed off by new regulations. Yet fireworks were plentiful just 12 days ago. Guess which one caused the most injuries and started the most forest fires.

Yes, son, that's a picture of a rocket. We used to be able to launch them.
Management tools have been available for Windows for years, Silver observed, but many enterprises still have not been able to manage their Windows environment. This has often been due to too much complexity, lack of sufficient policies or standards, or cultural and political issues, according to Silver.
If this is true with Windows, "we see little reason to believe that the cultural or political issues will change just because the enterprise is now using Linux," he observes.
Hmmmm, IF this is true with Windows it will PROBABLY be true with Linux. Wow! I'm convinced! And without having to pay $95.

300 million tons of eggshells per year? Let's be REAL generous and say an eggshell weighs one ounce. Extrapolate that into grown chickens and you come up with 9.6 trillion! Yet we only have 4 million tons of blood, feathers, heads, feet and entrails per year? Hey, what's REALLY in those nuggets?
I was a database administrator/troubleshooter on Air Force Unisys mainframes and we got an AT&T 3B2 in the office. I asked if I could play with it since I was taking a C programming class. Two months later the powers-that-be decided they wanted a system ported from a DEC they wanted to decommission and asked, "Who knows this 3B2 thing?" It's been great ever since.

Any bets as to how long before we see a TV "reporter" with "breaking news" about the novel use of this technology in a marriage proposal?

Passenger: "Yes."
Machine: "Have your bags been under your control the entire time?"
Passenger: "No."
Machine: "No vocie quaver. You may pass."
