    my dorm key, the key to the trunk in my room, and my 128mb lexar jump drive (the long thin red ones) are all on one key ring, which is attached to a red carabiner (it matches the drive, that makes me trendy... or its just a nice coincidence) that goes on my belt loop. when i go home i juts add a second ring which has house and car keys.

    GAIM GAIM direct IM works fine
    GAIM AIM never worked for me. The "improved" verison from a few builds ago claims to work better, but it couldn't detect I was behind a router and tried to connect using my 192. address

    why don't you cry me a river. Compiling isn't that hard.

    GAIM is natively an X11 app, and X11 is horribly disjointed from the rest of the OS X interface

    it's now a 1.0 but there's STILL no proper support for Direct IM with the offical client. is this REALLY that hard to implement properly? I think it's gotten to the point where they simply ignore the lack of support as a bug report.

    BZZZT. Incorrect. While it was once locked in to the AOL service, the AOL mail system is now accessible using any standard IMAP client.

    It's more like

    C:\Windows = System
    C:\Windows\System(32) = Library

    (On the plus side, you get windowshading, which Windows lacks.)

    This is not included by default in OS X. There are addon apps though.

    i know the older imacs (the G3 line) had two small rollers that would guide the cd in to the proper position, and make sure it came out properly.

    my powerbook doesnt have these so i doubt the new imacs will.

    You can get an x86 cheaper and have no need for an Apple, so you're not going to buy one.
