  1. I have XM on Satellite Radio Systems Compared · · Score: 1

I have had XM Radio since the day it went live on the west coast. Its amazing and I just love it. All of my friends get into my truck and are totaly jealous of me. I had to get one from my mother last christmas even, she isnt a techy, but she loves her lil delphi attached to the home stero. She doesnt even listen to her CD's or local radio any more (even though we live in the bay area and have plenty of opitions there).

I commute to and from college via my truck and couldnt live with out it. Its a three hour drive and I loose radio for maybe 10 seconds total during the trip (due to steep and many mountains).

I personally love XM a bunch more over Sirus, but if you havent gotten Xm...GET IT. Its very worth the subscription fee (heck, its cheaper than an ITunes membership).

And if you are in Minnesoda, you have to stop by the Soudan Under Ground Mine. Why? Because they got one cool High Energy Physics Lab down there, and they give tours too!

Go find a car alarm siren (from old car or kragen, autozone, etc). They are cheap and designed for twelve volts (though you dont even need this much). I have connected one of these two a 9v bat and its VERY VERY loud. Loud enough to wake the husband and neighbors husband and wife, and their neighbors, etc. (Or somewhere close).

My cell phone automatically gets the time from the cell service. My alarm is set by the atomic clock in Boulder, CO. Finally my wrist watch is a Timex "Internet Messagner" (It has a built in pager), it also recives the exact time from the pager service 6 times a day via "FlexTime".

Ok, I live up in the lake tahoe area in California/Nevada. AM/FM radio here sucks horibly even the best station with 3 repeaters in the area is constantly staticy or otherwise not working. I found XM radio and got it installed in my truck as soon as I could (since I do a bunch of driving). It wonderful, no static, digital quality music, etc. I really recomend it to anyone in an area that doesnt get very good am/fm radio. Or anywhere for that matter. I have driven from Tahoe to multiple places in california including LA, San Luis Obisbo, San Fransisco, and the radio works perfectly the entire time. The radios buffer a bit of the signal so when you go under an overpass you dont loose you music. And as for mp3 players etc, They doent get you live news, talk radio, the commendy channel (xm150 which is hella ****ing funny), and anything else for that matter. Sometime I just surf the dial to stuff I nirmally don't like and see if there is something there that I might enjoy. Its really great and I hope XM stays around. -JON
