Especially since there was another frontpage story that said "Science Channel buys Firefly" and the BBC (america) is the main channel that shows SF* these days since the renaming and demise of the ScIFi channel
BBCA has ST:TNG and X-Files in addition to their own SF shows like DR Who, Torchwood, Primevil, and Being Human...
Anyway back to the intended subject, I don't use FaceBook, and I do use Thunderbird, and It still hac BCC
Maybe many of those worls have simple forms of life, like this planet had handreds of million years ago, but haven't evolved into more complex forms yet. It took a long time for intelligent tool users to evolve here on earth, and we have only had radio transmissions for a bit more than a century. The aliens could have started to explore space, found it too expensive, and gave it up. Maybe they had a religious conversion, and gave up nearly all technology (except fireplaces)
"the Virgin V+ HD box is free (well, a once off £50 activation charge) for new customers"
If 50 pounds is now virtually free, then the value of sterling must have dropped quite a bit. Tell you what, you send me a 50 pound note, and I will send you $10US back to cover the cost of postage.
I think the reason they have cellphone 'towers' is to get the antenna up high so it covers a wider area and is less affected by buildings and stuff blocking the signal. They are still going to need towers unless they find some way of elevating those cubes above the surroundings. Maybe tethered balloons would work in some areas which don't have wind.
Around here at this time of year naturally occuring crystals can cause objects to disappear., especially in high winds. In some cases even after the wind has subsided, things can remain hidden by being covered with a layer of these 6 sided crystals. There are 2 solutions, wait until the temperature increases and the crystals melt, or to use a shovel....
Without the Internet they can't have a revolution - o dear...
I guess the american and french revolutions in the late 18th century never happened then, they didn't even have telegraph or telephone, much less internet wifi and cable or satellite TV
I think high loads in general would be out. I don't think it would be possible for instance to have a full size model of the golden gate bridge and expect it to stay up.
If you tried to make a solid sphere a light year across out of legos I think it would collapse into a black hole. (And the galaxies financial system would collapse trying to pay for it.)
I thought the Daedalus incorporated a lot of Asgard technology, including Hyperdrive and site to site beaming ability. It would be very useful to have since it can go to other nearby galaxies (Like Pegasus) Heres some info: http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Daedalus
I just checked the local forecast and the temperature is predicted to rise 25 celcius (45 F) over the next week. It won't melt all the ice though as it will still be below freezing...
In a modern world Daylight saving doesn't save anything. If you want to save power for lighting just mandate the end of incandescent bulbs.
Its also really annoying having the time change in the middle of March when it would affect meal times.
I have lived in both hemispheres

Who knows
But naval warfare is well suited to the sharks that you mount your lasers on
That may be a little expensive, what about nuking it in a microwave oven?

Cleaning up afterward may not be so great
Where you keep all your valuable data, so if we ever hack into your computer, we know where to steal (or at least make copies of) your pron collection
I thought the reason retailers ask for your zip code is so they know what rate of sales tax to charge you, and which state gets said tax.
Do you get asked for zip code if you pay by cash?
Why not just express version numbers in binary?
Thus version 4 would be released as version 100, and version 5 would be 101
That should be enough for this year , and jump way ahead of the opposition.

That name sounds familiar, is that the same guy that went to the moon (Apollo 17)?
What does Michael Palin say about this? - He has been around as an entertainer for a long time.
Sarah is a common womans name - I am sure there was one in the Bible.

Exactly - I think Ed Hillary and his crew said you couldn't make a decent cup of tea on Mt Everest because of the low boiling point.
Yeah about 4 billion years ago

Buses may work in dense population centers, but not in small and medium sized towns like you find in the midwest states of the USA.
I thought Wolfram was called Tungsten in America?

With the situation in Egypt, the price of oil is gonna skyrocket .
Whats so special about the number 15000 ? I could understand if it was 10000 or 100000 or, for more binary based folks 16383 or 16384, but 15000?

Yeah, 10B would be 267 in decimal
