I know it's not non-profit, but Thawte does provide personal certificates for free.
They do and they're actually pretty useful. However, they do expire after only one year which is pretty annoying for people who have gone through the trouble of getting their mail client to send you encrypted mail.
Slashdot is to RFID as Greenpeace is to:
A) Puppies
B) Trombones
C) Nuclear power generation
D) Trees
Let's get this straight people - RFID tags are not the devil. They are a technology with the potential to be VERY useful. Do we really have to see EVERY story about EVERY use of RFID tags in the world? Why don't you guys hold off until someone, somewhere actually does something Orwellian with the technology before you spurt the hackneyed, luddite, anti-RFID propaganda?
Oh and just because you disagree doesn't mean I'm trolling. Fuck, that concept is tired too. Where's my coffee?
I've used Gentoo briefly as a workstation OS, but one thing I've wondered is how stable is it?
Is anyone using Gentoo in a server farm in a production environment? That's always been one of the strengths of Debian's stable release. You can run your servers for years at a time and never have an update break ANYTHING. Has Gentoo reached this level of stability yet or is it more of a bleeding edge kind of distro?
A trailer home in Kentucky can be had for $1000, and a diet of ground beef, flour, spices and vegetables can sustain a family for less than $5000 a year.
Your ideas intrigue me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
I'm sorry, but MCSEs have a bad name because they deserve it. It's a worthless certification from Microsoft bestowed upon anyone with two brain cells to bash together.
I never held it against anyone, but after seeing just how clueless some of the MCSE-holders were about IT I learned to completely disregard it on a job application.
Gotta love that Headline News. Ever since the merger they avoid any type of real news like the plague.
Oh shit - the plague is back?!?
Ever want to silence the urban assault vehicle beside you at the stop light, pounding out gangster angst at orthodontia-rattling volumes?
Indeed, but my secret fantasy involves a directional EMP.
But instead I just sit back and cherish the thought that in 20 years they'll be deaf as snake.

After a year on a 23" CRT I can't imagine downgrading to anything less; a friend of mine uses two of them!
Guys, I wouldn't recommend doing that. Look what it's done to
his friend.
Type up a letter and mail it everyone listed as a Representative at house.gov in your state
And remember - most politicians cannot read l337sp34k.
Now 20k or 30k rpm? *that* would make me drool.
Would that be from the platter shrapnel that gets lodged in your brain when it self-destructs?
The Whitehouse just issued a press release stating that, "Quantum Mechanics is now officially part of the Axis of Evil".
No kidding. A couple hundred posts praising how hilarious the story is and there isn't even a freakin' ending.
You want prior art? Just look my sig...
I'm am so glad I am not cursed with aural snobbery. What an expensive disease.
Was the subject of your post "AMD (Score:5, Funny)" or did somebody really find that funny?
Not anymore...

(It's a link to the story about Microsoft including antivirus software in Windows XP Service Pack 2.)
Ah, but what about three mice each named "person"?
Oh and where were you sitting in the room, I have a feeling I know who you are.
Stand up and yell, "I'm right here, Rick". I think we work in the same office.
(Posted AC because I'm paranoid.)
You shouldn't be, lots of people use EFNET.
It means you've been using shitty software too long.

it seems to me (IANAL) that they should get to wait.
Is it just me, or does IANAL sound like a code in the personal ads?
Debian has decided to change the codename of the next release to GNU/Longhorn.
I thought it was going to be Debian GNUkem Forever.

You can't watch a movie and do something with your hands
Well, with the kinds of movies I watch, what's the point?
Actually, the new version gives me a low scale headache from the constant flutter.
You sound like you're fun to hang out with.

(and yes, IAAL)
Where the hell have you been? People have been looking for you around here for years.
