Personally, i like going back to every incarnation of zelda and picking up the same items, but using it in different scenarios...but that's just me, anyway...

How many FPS shooters have you all played?

How many times can I play through a similar world collecting the SAME items?

How many times can I play through a similar world, and collect different versions of a sniper rifle, m-16, pistol, etc.? All FPS have variations on a theme, but they ALL have guns, and upgrades, and armor, etc...Same shit, different scenario.

Personally, I am getting bored w/ FPS, every time a game comes out it's just a rehash of a game from the year before, w/ better graphics but based on the same engine. Every 5 years they come out with a new engine, and everyone screams HOLY SHIT look at these graphics, lemme go get my sniper rifle (or whatever you prefer) and start killing some enhanced zombies/undead/nazis/whatever.

Ahhh...what a way we've come from the original DOOM, or have we?...Actually most FPS games still look like DOOM w/ ENHANCED graphics.

    Is there better gameplay? Debatable.

Look at the original Legend of Zelda...now go play Ocarina of Time. Totally different game, not only graphics wise, but more importantly gameplay wise. (I still love the original though)

Miyamoto has revolusionized every step of the way,
Arcade version of Maro Bros. to
    Super Mario Bros. to
    Mario 64.

Same star (Mario), but TOTALLY different games.

  3. Re:Anyone find it ironic.... on ATI Talks Game Support, Future Of Graphics Cards · · Score: 1

Everyone knows ATI has shit driver support.

One of the most annoying things about ATI is their drivers. I'm not talking Radeon series here, b/c I have no experience with them, but

I have an Xpert 2000 in my pc (i know, i know - I got it in '99 I think); and the driver support is absolutely horrible. When I first got the card, drivers wouldn't come out nearly as often as NVidia's. Which is a major problem when the few drivers that did come out were complete crap.

Granted, if ATI released drivers once in a while and they played all games w/ no problem, then fine. But graphics cards *always* need updates. Even when one driver comes out, a game comes out the following week that needs some driver support to polish off the experience.

The last driver that came out for my card was in 2001. That's right 2001. What the fuck is up with that? GeForce2 still has updated drivers, and both cards came out around the same time.

The 9800 pro might be the best card out there, but when I go to troubleshooting boards for games, there are a ton of problems for games w/ these cards, and the developers answer with "wait for our next patch."

The same boards have problems w/ GeForce cards, and they say "update your driver."

When you get *almost* the same performance out of two cards (9800 and 5800), I've come to the realization that what good is an extra 3 fps when 1 year down the road ATI completely shits on you.

And for this reason I am buying a NVidia card as my next video card - better support from the manufacturer.

I thought that Mother 1 was known as "Earthbound 0"? (A prequel, since it wasn't released in US), and Mother 2 was named Earthbound(in the US at least), even though Mother 1 came out first.

I think they just renamed the game for the US release, and its known as Mother in Japan.

Like Secret of Mana series in US is known as Seiken Densetsu in Japan.

I see what you mean by Nintendo scrapping the N64 version and translating it to GBA, since that's what the article says, but (my opinion) wouldn't you think that it would be hard to start developing a game in 3d on a system like N64 and then do a complete 360 and put it on an inferior (power wise) system? Just my thoughts.

Hey, I know your not slamming the GBA, (and this really has nothing to do w/ what you said) but I would like to say that----

I LOVE the fact the GBA is keeping SNES style games alive, I'm playing Zelda DX (originally released for GBC, I think) right now, and it's awesome. SNES style games are great. Kind of like the SNES never went away, and companies are still making games for the console.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo waited until their next console to release Earthbound, so all the fans would pick up the next console. Kind of like how Metroid skipped the N64.

And download kazaa lite (I use overnet for everything, but you can't find GBA Roms on overnet.)

As long as you don't mind playing games on your pc screen (which i don't think any of you do) as opposed to hooking it up to your tv screen, then there's a good chunk of change you'll save.

Plus you'll be able to "preview" any gba title on your pc.

The 2003-2004 NFL season is about to begin, but the super bowl is in the year 2004 so 10 years from now they will refer to the team who wins as the 2004 season winners.
