    Sorry I had to answer this one.

    As do millions of Americans, it's just you were at the biggest tourist trap in the world so of course every yahoo with a trailer hitch and an airstream was there. Check out any major or even minor city people do it everyday and some of them are actually good at it.

    sorry I hate when some one from another country comes and sees the smallest slice of life and starts generalizing about the whole country.

    It's actually news to me that Linux deals with clicks at all. I thought that was more in the realm of the X-Window (or Xorg) project.

    If someones DVD updates the firmware on a piece of equipment that I OWN then they had better be prepared to either buy me a new one (especially if their update breaks it) or get sued. Remember the Sony debacle.

    Huh? Apple doesn't make hardware? Actually they are primarily a hardware company. They produce an operating system and some apps for their systems but there is no doubt that Apple is a hardware company.

    Oh yes, because I see so much open source software making money on sales. More likely it would be copied and passed around on the p2p networks with no worries. I personally don't think games will ever do well as open source, to much capital has to be spent on development to allow anyone to give it away. You also would have massive cheats created for any network play which has killed several games.

    ICANN Has nothing to do with IP Address allocation, I believe it is IANA that is in charge of that function.

    SBC broadband internet does not have common carrier status , nor does any other internet service provider in the US. Why this common misconception persists is a mystery to me. They are coverd by the term Enhanced Service Provider (ESP), in the telecom world common carrier status carries may burdens and regulations that no ISP wants nor does the fcc want to grant it. so please lets stop making this claim as it is completely false.

    The problem with the portable units is the drip pan (for the condensation) tends to fill up during extended use causing the unit to turn off until the pan is emptied. They have a small plugged tube in the back near the bottom, this needs to run to a drain for continued use.

    The Idea behind the The Long Now Foundation is to think about the future, not in the terms of tomorrow or next week or even next year, but int the terms of next century and next millenium and so on. They want us to have a far reaching view of the future so as to understand our actions have consequences beyond our generation.
